West Virginia -5
Cal Santa Barbara -7
Wright State +2.5 (-140)
New Mexico +3 (-130)
Pennsylvania -4.5
I've had good success in the past couple of nights beating the spread in intrastate and local rivalries which tend to be very close games (St. Louis - Missouri, Northern Iowa - Iowa)
I've got two of these tonight in which IMO the wrong team is favored:
Wright State
Sagerin ratings make Wright State 4.74 points better than Morehead State. Factoring in the home advantage for MSU, this game should still be a slight edge to Wright State.
MSU has won this match-up the last two years, 70-69 and 74-72.
IMO this years Wright State is better than last years version. They return 3 starters and lost some height underneath but are much quicker and the transfer brothers Cain and Seth Doliboa are making an immediate impact.
New Mexico
New Mexico is the better team here, my numbers have NM as 6 points better this year than NMS. Against common opponent Alcorn State, NMS won by ten 82-72 while New Mexico hammered them 87-55.
NMS won this match-up last year 79-68 at The Pit, I like New Mexico to revenge that loss.
I also love taking advantage of the Vegas linesmakers obvious bias against the Ivy.
Pennsylvania
UPenn is the class of the Ivy once again this year while Villanova is at the bottom of the Big East. My numbers have Penn as eight points better than 'Nova on an equal court and Penn is at home in this one.
