Kdog --

I've sworn off those halftime lines, last night's Penn game reinforced that move: bettors who took Penn -6.5 1H lost by the hook.

Before you throw your money down on Marist 1H you might want to check out their last couple of starts; I think in that game vs L-M they were down by 13 at the half before they came back in 2H to win.

Marist doesn't have a lot of rebounding, but they rely on good ball handling and defense to wear down opponents. IMO which means they're more likely to pull away in the 2H.

Caveat emptor.

I was one of the unfortunates to get hooked last night.

Yea ill look into more. It just seems to me that marist usually does start slow, but i can see them leading by a 5 or 6 spot by half. I will definately check it out and be back later

thanks superbk

Jon,

Any particular reason that you like Loyola over Saint Pete? I have this game capped at Saint Pete by 2 therefore I am passing, but you are really up on the conference is their something that I am missing?

MC --

Home court is a very powerful advantage for MAAC teams, especially those at the bottom of the heap.

Manhattan, Fairfield and Niagara seem to be able to beat all of the other MAAC teams on the road or at home.

Iona, Siena and Cansius are pretty solid at home.

Marist should be able to take care of the bottom 3 at home.

St. Peter's, L-M and Rider are ONLY going to win at home.

IMO L-M is not the worst team in the MAAC -- they've got decent size and Lucious Jordan is a pretty good player. They're a young team and they are susceptible to a lot of TOs, esp. vs the better MAAC teams which play tough D.

In their recent loss to Canisius, they did shoot 49% from the field but their 20 TOs killed them.

St. Peter's lives and dies by the scoring of freshman Keydren Clark who is one of the top scorers in the country at 25.2 ppg. He's shooting 40% from the arc which is incredible because most games he's double teamed. (when's he going to transfer?)

A couple of thoughts:

- St. Peter's doesn't have a great D, which should help keep L-M's turnovers down and if their good shooting carries over from their last game they should be able to record the win.

- this is a revenge game: L-M which was embarassed in their earlier 83-58 loss at St. Peter's.

- Clark is coming off a poor shooting game, he only shot 5-21 from the field including 1-9 from the arc at Fairfield. L-M has some big men, not as big as Fairfield's but if they can keep their arms up and don't foul maybe they can keep Clark's scoring down. The better teams in the league have figured out that if they can stop Clark they can shut down St. Peter's, which is why S-P is 0-5 ATS in their L5.

Bottom line: these are two of the bottom 3 teams in the MAAC; a good friend used to tell me not to throw good money after bad teams. Only a small play for me.

- L-M is 6-0 vs St. Peter's at home.

Joe -- I liked Hofstra at -1.5 and even more at +1.

LVSC opening line was -3.

Apodaca had a terrible game last time out at Drexel: 4-17 from the field including 2-12 from the arc. The Pride had real problems with that 4 guard O of Drexel. Adeleke played a great game vs Battle underneath.

Delaware shot poorly in their last game at 38% but hit a lot of 3s and FTs to beat Towson last Saturday.

Apodaca has an awesome game at home in his first game back, and if he can shoot tonite like he did in that game, Hofstra gets the win.

Apodaca tends to play much better in the 2H than 1H, so it's key for Hofstra to come out much faster than they did last week vs Drexel where they scored just 18 points in the 1H.

Don't even think about a 1H bet on Hofstra guys.

Not a big play for me, I like Marist better.

I see line on L-M is now PK.

Tony -- hopefully it doesn't come down to that half point, I see Marist winning by ten here.

But you might want to wait until Bear and/or Box weigh in this game around 6:30. Box lives near Marist and he's the expert on the Red Foxes.

Smash -- let's hope it comes in.:)

I just opened an account at Pinnacle the other day and I am going to try my first Total:

St. Peter's/L-M Over 140.5

Neither of these two play much D. St. Peter's is giving up 79.7 ppg on the road; L-M is a little better but not much, giving up 77.8 ppg in their L5. Even lowly Rider scored 69 on them at home.

I see a 77-72 sort of game here so I'm going to give it a shot.
