No time to write up properly but I've played these:

Sri Lanka v Canada: top Sri Lankan bat 4pts Atapattu 11/4, 2pts Jayasuriya 7/4 both Stan James - great prices in a restricted market on the opening bats - sorry guys, but be surprised if too many Sri Lankans get a knock - I reckon they'll put Canada in + try + knock 'em off quick to boost their run-rate.

Also having 1 pt Davidson top Canadian bat 11/2 Blue Sq

England v Namibia: Top England bat 1pt each Stewart 25/1, Flintoff 25/1 both Bet365 - overpriced given again a quick slog may be on the cards (Flintoff especially)

India v Zimbabwe: 3pts Sehwag 4/1 - may well open instead of Ganguly + is due a good knock!
1pt Grant Flower 5/1 - overpriced at Skybet

Lastly, + best, Top Australian bat v Holland - Maher 5/1 4pts Sunderlands - rumoured that they'll rest Gilchrist + let him open - if so 5/1 (take 3's or more myself!) is big for any Aussie getting first crack at the indifferent Dutch bowlers :weed:

Good luck
hoss:D

ps any of the Aussies can back up the last bit I'd be very interested (+ have more on!!!!):D

Hoss, don't know if you knw the site baggy green, but after just reading your thread i thought this may help.

POTCHEFSTROOM, South Africa, Feb 17 AAP - Jimmy Maher is expected to be Australia's wicket-keeper in the World Cup match against Holland, meaning a break for the bowlers from his hand-written messages.

The mismatch at NorthWest Stadium on Thursday gives unbeaten Australia the chance to rest keeper Adam Gilchrist, promote rusty batsmen Michael Bevan and Darren Lehmann and give one or two of its pace bowling trio a breather.

The clash with a winless Dutch team, including players the Australians have never heard of, promises to be either a whitewash or a washout, if Potchefstroom has another of its torrential afternoon downpours.

Australia is so worried about Gilchrist suffering an injury before a big game that specialist batsman Maher is being given every chance to retain touch and to hone his wicketkeeping skills.

When he fields in regular positions, like he did against Pakistan in Australia's first Cup game, mischievous Maher can't help leaving scribbled notes on the ground for the bowlers, according to Australian coach John Buchanan.

"He will be as happy as a very fat spider behind the stumps and opening the batting," said Buchanan, stealing one of Maher's favourite sayings.

"I'm sure a number of the bowlers will be happy to see him behind the stumps because they won't have to read the little messages he leaves at the top of their bowling marks."

It's believed, in the absence of confirmation, that Maher's messages are not entirely serious nor motivational. He has a sense of humour.

Gilchrist is fit and could play at a pinch but he needs to be kept fresh because his workload is going to be intense next month when Australia starts plotting its course through the Super Sixes and beyond.

"Gilly's fine," said Buchanan.

"He's probably one of the guys who would like to keep going at this stage but I think from our point of view it will be important for Mabo (Maher) to again gain a bit of 'keeping experience and also have an opportunity to bat at the top of the order.

"It helps us cover any possible bases that need to be covered that haven't been done already."

Buchanan has a few hopes for Thursday's game at North West Stadium.

He hopes Potchefstroom will not have one of its huge afternoon thunderstorms, he hopes his gun players don't get injured and he hopes the Dutch play well above their capabilities to give the Australians a decent game.

Never heard of some of the Dutch?

"Definitely, definitely," said Buchanan.

"That can be the case with some of the leading sides, too, although it's less likely, I suppose, because we've basically seen most of those players.

"It's one of the good things about playing the likes of Namibia or Holland or Kenya or even Bangladesh for that matter - we haven't seen too much of them and therefore we don't sit down an analyse the team to death.

"We really just get out there and respond to what they throw at us."

Holland lost its first two games to India and England.

They don't have much to throw.

I'm about to go and take the 5's myself. Stay in touch and e-mail me if you want a chat away from the forum.

:D :D

Sri Lankan game went nicely to plan - Canada bowled out for next to nothing - Leaving Attapattu to top score easily - an 11/4 winner. Noone other than him + Jayasuriya had a chance.
Davidson got a duck

Stewart top scored for England with 60 - the late news that Hussain wasn't playing made me have more on the pair of them, which made it even better - a 25/1 Winner:cool:

Both Sehwag + Flower got going but failed to see it through, although Flower failed by only 6 runs to top score!

+28pts on day, +28 on tournament so far:D

hoss;)

Hoss excellant work.

Stewart a great price, after seeing your post I went to bet365 only quoting 14/1, so you got in smartish.

Unfortunatly Sunderlands don't trade on the internet and offices not open until 9.30am weekdays. I have a credit account with this firm as they have on some occassions been well out of line with the industry. Prices not available until close of buisness on Tuesday, and today price was 9/4 when offices opened so unfortunatly no 5/1 available. Bloody shame because this would have been a great price.

BB, Got bet size restricted (as usual) with Bet365 (who are a poxy bunch!), but there was 20's available at a few other places too.
As far as Maher goes - I backed him again at 1000am this morning!!! with Sunderlands on the phone:shrug: - I was expecting the price to have gone too, maybe it's a mistake - my lucky day, perhaps :)

I have heard that Lehman is opening tomorow wth Langer and Maher is batting at 5 or 6. I cannot substantiate if this is 100% or not. I thought I would let you know.

As for bet365, I have never had any problems getting money down with them, I have used them for 20 months now and only been restrictd once. I have found Ladbrokes and Corals to be the worst. I have forgotten how many times I have been restricted with Corals. So now if I want ?400 on a selection I ask for ?1000 and get somewhere near to what I want. If they say you can have ?600, I say or, better play safe I'll have ?400.

I don't know what's up with Sunderlands, I phoned at 9.30 and was told the price was 9/4, you say you phoned at 10.00 and got 5's.

Fair play to you Hoss. good luck today and great tipping on Stewart.

Are you ready for the super league this year?

365 has limited me to ridiculous proportions after killing them in baseball prop wagering last year. The act big time but aren't.

Oh well, Maher opened the batting as hoped - unfortunately then ended up batting first on a really tough pitch + he blew it! Still 5/1 was a great price for an opener against a minnow!

bal +24pts

Tomorrows game's off as the Kiwis concede to Kenya, but I'll be back tomorrow night if there's anything interesting on England v Pakistan or S.Africa v Bangladesh - England have a few injuries at the moment + the weather is also making a mess of things, so there's a good chance of some action :D (plus the pakistanis have no idea who to pick at the moment so some firms bound to get caught out!)
