The longest men's singles match was in the second round in 1989. G. Holmes (USA) beat T. Witsken (USA) 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 14-12 in 5 hrs and 28 minutes.
While were at it, the longest match in the ladies' singles was a 1995 second round match that lastest 3 hrs and 45 minutes. C. Rubin (USA) eventually overcame Canadian P. Hy-Boulais 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (5-7), 17-15.
