Syracuse/Memphis Under 66 1H

A lot of people I see are hopping on Syracuse -4 already but I have to say that the 1H under is the strongest play on the board. Syracuse and Memphis have never met prior to tonight but Calipari has faced them as coach of Umass and was 2-0. Memphis' top four scorers from last year team are gone; Dajuan Wagner is in the NBA, Kelly Wise graduated, Scooter McFadgon transferred and Chris Massie is ineligible. Syracuse freshman pointguard Billy Edelin ineligible due to an NCAA suspension. Gerry McNamara, another freshman, will take over in Edelin's stead. Carmelo Anthony is going to be awesome... he scored 37 points in an exhibition game last week! The rest of the starting lineup consists of two sophomores and Kueth Duany, the team's lone senior. Considering all the people both teams have lost from last year... they still averaged 36.6 points/half (Memphis) and 33.5 points/half. Can't see both teams running a steady offense for atleast the first 7 minutes of the game. First game of the year in MSG will have butterfiles in everyone's stomachs (even mine). I'm a big Syracuse fan and can't wait for tonights game  I still have to look into the game a little more, and will be back if anything else stands out

Questions or comments welcome.

GL to all :D

Oklahoma/Alabama Over 138.5
Oklahoma -4.5

The second half of the Coaches vs Cancer game faces up Oklahoma vs Alabama at 9:30 est. Gonna play both Oklahoma and the over for one unit each. Feel they are solid plays...
Oklahoma is returning 10 players from its 01-02 roster and four of them are starters. Oklahoma is also coming off a 1-4 season taht included a Final Four appearance. Leading the team will be senior All American candidate Hollis Price. Price averaged 16.5 ppg, 3.1 rebounds, 2.5 ass, and 1 steal pg. Rounding out the other four solid starters are Ebi Ere (big 12 newcomer of the year last year) 14.6 ppg, 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 ass, and 1 steal pg; Senior PG Quannas White (Big 12 All-Newcomer Team last season) led the team in assists in 27 of 36 games including 19 of 21 final games. He avg 7.6 ppg, 4.7 ass, and 1.3 steals per game and shot .408 from 3 pt range.; Jabahri Brown is a jr center who avg 4.8 ppg, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals pg.; OU's 5th starter is freshman Kevin Bookout who was recruited as the nations 10th best high school senior. He avg 30.6 ppg, 16.2 rebounds and 4 blocked shots and 3.1 steals pg in highschool, he also shot .843 from the field and .706 from 3 pt range.
Alabama won its two exibition games by a combined 4 points! They beat EA Sports 97-94 and beat Athletes in Action 72-71. Alabama also returns 4 starters. *Running behind with work so I have to wrap this up... now. Oklahoma is 3-0 vs Alabama. Other notes... : Oklahoma has won 16 of its last 17 season opening games and are 8-0 in season openers under Kelvin Sampson and there smallest margin of victory in those 8 games was 11 points (vs Coppin state in 94). Look for 3 guard sets from both teams and with good 3 point shooting and free throws in the last 2 minutes to make it go over (I hope ;) )

GL TO ALL.... questions and comments welcome...

Teddy, what do you think about Cuse -2 1st Half?

Memphis will have a frosh running the PG and I think they will run into some problems scoring and mistake-wise early. I think experience alone for Boheim's boys and a slight home court edge in the big city makes it a good play. Hakim Warrick is a good athlete for the Orangemen, and he along with Duany and Anthony should pose some big problems for the Tigers. Let me know what you think.

I thought bout playing them in 1H but to tell you the truth I really dont know what to expect from either team. Even Calipari said himself today on ESPN Radio "Dont be suprised if after 10 minutes the score is 5-3)" There are a lot of young players on both sides which makes it hard to figure out. I want to see how it goes and probably wait for the 2H to play syr or mem. If I were to play a side for action purposes I would go with Syracuse since they have the better players. But like I said before .. its gonna be sloppy ball for a while IMO. Hope that helped...
