OK I will pass today on the Best Bet, But will start the day off with a straight bet. Now this team is cold as ice, but I feel this is a very good spot to get some cash - and that is what its about......so first play of the day:

Cubs wt/ Tapani -180

Back later with some parlays.

I will not be using my Hot/Cold list as much today with my selections. I have had two losing days in a row and will just go with the flow and try to bounce back with these:

Yankees - Mussina pitched great in his last start vs. Seattle winning game 4-0, I see him being the one pitcher that will slow down the bats of the Rangers and on the other hand yankee bats should be ready for Oliver - who lost last start to Toronto 11-3.

Oakland & The Over, Hiljus has got plenty of run support and Burba in the past has got blown away. Hiljus's last start he won vs. Wsox 9-2 and his start before that he won vs. the Yankees 8-6. Burba has not made a start in awhile but I have him as the starting pitcher in that wild game vs. Seattle that ended 15-14, so that is why I like the over, Oakland is still a hot team and do not lose too many in a row.

Braves - Cold vs. Hot, but this is Maddux and this is a must win for Braves, they can not afford to lose 2 in a row to Padres at home - while Phillies are against the ropes. No more thought went into this play, call it a gut feeling.

Dbax - More of the same, much like the Braves write-up. But the only difference Dbax are still considerd HOT, and should not lose 2 in a row to Pitt who is 2-8 L10 while Dbax is 9-1 L10.

Cardinals - Kile is the reason here, He has been good to me and feel Cardinals are just the right side. The Reds have lost 3 consecitive home games when Davis has started and Cardinals has won the last 4 times Kile has started.

Angels - Angels need to win this game - but so do Redsox, both teams fighting for the wildcard. A few days ago this would be an easy choice, but I have now lost 2 days with Angels, but I still believe they have 1 more run left in them and Ortiz was great in his last start vs. Cleveland on the road as the Angels beat the Indians 7-2. Wakefeild's last start was a disaster as Baltimore pounded Boston 11-5 in Boston. Wakefeild's start before that the redsox lost 6-0 to the A's. Both teams are 5-5 L10. My feeling is Wakefeild is the right pitcher to get the Angels bats back swinging.

Seattle - "Lima time" well Lima has not been that bad, but you just got to think Detroit got their win the other night, I feel that Seattle will really try to win this series and if they do - they have to win today.

those are the plays, I am already down on the Cubs for the early game and will not play a best bet today as Cubs is just a "feel" Play, so I put the following parlays together using the picks from above.

Yankees
Braves

Angels
Seattle

Dbax
Cardinals

Oakland
Over A's/Indians

Woodpony,
I want to pull the trigger on the cubs but I can't find any info on the bullpen! Do you know what the pen is looking like and who they will use for the cubs.

Thanks
BB

Billy, I sure don't, hope they do not need a pen today - but that is just wishful thinking. I feel if they do not win today, they can forget about it.

BB - Tapani has started 4 times against the brew crew this year and the deepest he has gone is 7th inning the third start with 95 pitches.

The bullpen will be needed today.

They will have Van Poppel, Gordan, FArnsworth is avaliable, fassero a no go seeing how he threw 70 pitches two days ago.

Tapani will go at least 7 today. i look for van poppel to throw the 8th and gordan the ninth if needed. however i think if the cubs are up by a bit amount they may leave tapani out there to save the bullpen.

they are okay in the pen to answer your question for today.

what a roller coaster ride the Oakland game was, If Tajada had hit the ball anywhere besides the pitcher, The over would have cashed and Oakland would have probaly won. My luck has gone south as today was losing day #3 and well what can I say. 2-3 for the day. Back in a bit with a different approuch as I need to get back on track.
