I have to say that I was really shocked to see them hang up a -12 beside the Zips tonight. Omari Westley and The return of Modibo Niakate ,who was redshirted, gives the Vikes a legit one two punch and CSU should be 100% better than the team that was forced to dress only seven players at times last year.
The young Zips will be as good as their 3pt. shooting all season long. If CSU can defend the 3 ball a bit they stay inside this number tonight. I really believe that this one stays close.

Spang I couldnt agree with u more.

After seeing this line for the 1st time I just couldnt believe it. I see that Cleveland State shoots at 46% from the field and averages about 80pts per game.Akron is a 46% shooting team as well and score about 76 pts pre game. Which makes these teams equally competitive so the -12 point spread seems to high for me.

I wonder what GMAN the MAC guru has to say about this matchup

csu will definitely be improved this year, but just make sure you recognize who they put up 80ppg against. a couple division 2 schools. i can assure you that csu will not be anywhere near those numbers a month from now.

completely agree with spang though. csu is the play. unless akron goes nutty from 3pt land, i cant see this game getting into double digits.

and as a sidenote, when spang talks akron anything, the collective ears of madjacks should perk up. because hes nails in the mac and is one of the posters who truly is a "quality over quantity" poster.

Feeling really good about this one, especially when Gman follows up with a post on the same side. I am down huge on this one. Lets just hope the Zips don't set another team record for 3's like they did vs. the Dukes last week.

Thanks Gents, It wasn't pretty to watch. Way too many whistles and turnovers, but the Zips were held in check from beyond the arc and when that happens the Zips won't cover many numbers.
