YTD: 84-79 ( -12.4)

Western Mich -10 (three units)

On the surface you would think I might be crazy(and I won't dispute that) to lay double digits with a team that comes in at 4-10 and has been a major disappointment thus far. That does not mean that the Broncos still can not dominate and win the extremely weak western division of the MAC because they may well do just that. They are statistically superior in all aspects of the game to the Rockets and have the shooters to open things up. Toledo comes in at 0-8 on the road including a 16 point beat down at the hands of a very mediocre N Illinois team. I expect a similar result tonight.

BG/ Kent over 133 (two units)

This match up features the top two scoring offenses in the MAC and Kent just does not defend like they used to. The inability of Kent to hit their free throws is a concern here but I still like this game to land around 140. BG runs hot and cold but the Falcons have been pretty good as of late. The Falcons are an improved team and should give Kent all they want tonight.

Other plays for one unit
Richmond + 8 (-120)
Drake +8

Half unit plays:
Ohio U +10
BG +7

Might add a couple later

I have been saying it for awhile now that Kent is in a state of confusion right now. They dont have the same identity as they did when Christian was there. THe discipline is gone and the intensity seems to be lacking. With all that I am thinking tonight they might right the ship in their MAC home opener. They are a very talented bunch that just cant seem to get the right mesh together on the court. Bowling Green has some bad losses on the road this year already and going into Kent St. might not be the answer they are looking for. I look for Kent to come out focused and ready to play.

Kent-7 !!!!!

Btw Spang I do like the over also as Kent averages about 18 more pts at home than they do on the road and BG isnt the best defensive team.

Im riding with you on Western Mich as for the simple reason that Toledo is just downright horrible.

Tough loss last night for the Zips but at least the McKnights woke up a little bit and this team might be a tough out come MAC tourney time.

You might have the right idea tonight but I've gone to the well often against Kent and can't resist doing it again until they show me that they can defend. They just don't have an abundance of high character guys and as a matter of fact Woods was suspended this week. I'll bet that he won't be the last. BG has improved but has been weak on the road, tough call either way so I played it really small.

Akron/ Buff last night was a war. One of the more physical games I've seen in awhile. The Mcknights did perform well but for the life of me I can't figure out how a guy Bardo's size can go 20+ minutes with only 2 boards. In the end it came right down to what I've said, the Zips just do not have a solid go to guy. I suspect that they could be a tough out at the Q though. Humpty will move forward and the team will grow together. When you can defend as well as Akron does it will keep them in almost every game. They just need to to learn to finish against the tougher teams.

Best of luck tonight
