Now that the preseason ended, its time for the real games to begin. Ill post the opener for now, and more games as info comes. One other game I am following is a decent bet on the Giants, just awaiting a ruling on the Zeke case.

YTD Record:
5 Star: 0-0
4 Star: 0-0
3 Star: 1-0
2 Star: 0-0
1 Star: 0-0

Thursday Night game:

New England -8 over Kansas City ****

The Patriots were 16-3 ATS last season, including covering their last 8 games in the season, as the Patriots were far and away the best bet in the NFL. I expect odds to skyrocket on the Patriot games moving forward once the public gets a real look at the potential of this team in this game.

The Patriots were super vanilla this preseason, barely using both Gronk and Cooks, and giving limited time to the stable of running backs. Losing Edelman is certainly a blow, but the Patriots have depth at the position and watch for RB guys like White, Lewis and Burkhead to be split out against linebackers, who have little chance to keep up with their quickness. I believe the Patriots will lead the NFL in points scored this season.

On the other side of the ball, the Patriots will need to find more pass rush, with only Flowers being a top notch guy. With the Ware injury for KC, they will rely on the rookie Hunt to take over against a pretty stout rushing defense. Kansas City has speed at the wide receiver position but not a lot of talent (Hill being the exception) and Smith is a game manager more than anything, especially going against 2 solid cornerbacks and a terrific safety tandem making it hard to throw the ball.

The Super Bowl banner will be unveiled and so will this Patriots team. I expect the offense to ring up 30+ on Kansas City and the Chiefs just don't have nearly the firepower to keep up.

Patriots 31-17
