I'd add Miami and FSU to the uh oh list. Both have decent defenses while both will struggle big time vs any team with a top 20 defense.

??????????????
Think your mistaken.

Not many teams have better defenses than these 2 .

I said they have decent defenses. The chuck-it-a-mile-high-and-pray-fagg-catches-it offense of FSU won't beat VT, Fla, and probably not one, maybe two more ACC teams on the right day (e.g. Clemson). IMO, the same goes for UM's offense.

Awful.

I don't see FLA as being a shaky team last week.....they covered their spread. They were down 7-0 then scored 34 unanswered points! I think they SMACK C.Fla this week in the swamp....

agreed right side. florida's 2 starting DT's were suspended for the game. the d-line is by far the team's strength this year, but no pressure was put on the QB all game (hence, zero sacks). With 5th year senior Steven Harris and All-American Marcus Thomas back, look for FL to route UCF this weekend before taking it to Knoxville the next week.

...no offense intended to you, sunshine boys, but this plays out every year between Tenn and FL. Week 2 is classic trap week.... I'm not saying that they won't blow them out, but don't think for a minute that Tenn beating CAL isn't in the back of their collective minds this week. :scared

...this one, in my humble opinion, is screaming "backdoor" much louder than Air Force...but then again, what do I know?

Add BC to the list of teams that won but where shaky, that was not the typical disciplined team I'm used to seeing from Coach O'Brien.

Multiple personal foul penalities and sloppy play calling while up are not how BC usually plays, something to keep an eye on. This defense is going to be in for a long year in the ACC if they continue to be so undisciplined.

Multiple penalties, sloppy play calling, you cant be talking about FSU or Miami because you would have included no running game or accurate QB if you were.

I do agree Miami and FSU have two of the top defenses in the country but Kyle wright is a liability since he goesout of his way to get sacked and FSU has 0 chance of running the ball. ACC easily best defensive conference in the nation if you factor in VT.

ASU played real shaky in their opener, they were down many times throughout to Northern Arizona.

...since I just got up from a *brief* nap. (Yeah, lawyer humor is better than accountant humor.) :mj07: ...and I have a couple of hours to kill...along with a couple of beers.
I thought I'd make my worthless comments on wareagle's orig post. :scared

This is a list of teams that took care of business and did what everyone expected them to do:

- Texas - I could have QB'd the offense against N. Texas...this week will separate the wheat from the chaff....
- LSU - See above...exchange N. Texas with La-Laff-my ass off....
- Auburn - Absolutely agree! Lost 3 of last 4 season openers and came out hungry...hope we don't see a let-down this week.
- Ohio St - Defense front 7? I like G. Wolfe, but is he that good?!?!? ...because I guarantee that Texas O-line is better than N. Ill. (If Ginn doesn't have a couple of big plays, this one will sail Under...as I expect the number to be bet way up.)
- Clemson - See LSU...make the appropriate substitutions.
- Southern Cal - Personally, the more I think about it, the more I think that Pete Carroll is just *that* good of a 2nd half coach.... A very nice showing on the road.
- West Virginia - I'll defer to fletch on this one.... Weak schedule, but loaded with talent.... He has faith in Coach Rod.... I'll agree.... M. Bush going down sure doesn't hurt them....
- Nebraska - Black shirts are back? Methinks they might be.... Has the exchange in system and recruiting finally caught up? Methinks it may have.... Won't bet against them anytime soon.
- Texas Tech - Still wondering about the suspensions, etc. How bad will it bother the offense...if at all? Always a tricky bunch for me anyways.
- Oregon - Think that they are feeling "snubbed" from last year...kinda like Auburn in 2005. I rate them higher than most, but then again, I'm not a PAC 10 guy...so, what do I know?
- Tenn - Should I even comment here? Probably not. Cutcliff is the key.... If he can keep Ainge's head on straight and the receivers show up this season, who knows? Problem is that those are not givens...and don't be fooled by last weekend. It was basically 2 missed tackles by a 2nd string CB on short out routes combined with TN's front 7 (which we lost 6 of this year...did I mention that we reload there?) stopping the run early.... Air Force is a big time trap game with Florida on deck.... I'll leave it at that.

These teams were shaky in their debut, but got what mattered, a W:

- Penn St - Not impressed either.... Wish the line were moving the other way....
- Florida - Neutral. He's not likely to show much this early.... So. Miss is no sloutch on D...usually. This week's line smells like rotten fish bait....
- TCU - Looked very shakey.... Should have lost that game...to Baylor, of all teams. They'll gel better when conf games roll around though....
- Louisville - Losing M. Bush was a huge blow to the team's psychie.... Looked good, but not in good mental shape headed for the match-up with Miami....
- Michigan - Typical Lloyd Carr. I'm still kicking myself for not taking Vandy in more than a small teaser....
- Irish - I shouldn't comment here either.... Maybe...just maybe...ND's offense is not as good as everyone thought? Maybe GT's defense is better than everyone thought? ...or, in my best Forrest Gump voice, maybe, just maybe...it's a little of both? :scared

These teams are in trouble:

- Ou -
- Cal - I disagree. This team will be a discount for the next few weeks *IF* the early loss didn't damage the team psychie.... (yes, I know I probably misspelled "psychie" twice) They have some excellent talent....
- Colorado:sadwave: - No comment. LOL
