g.b./giants

an easy game for g.b., so i will take the giants.

denver/indy

not much incentive here for denver, indy puts on a little show at home. indy

ariz/wash

a series dominated by wash with room to spare. no second thoughts here. wash.

cinci/tenn

pass

dallas/detroit

pass

n.e./carol

n.e all out on this one. give the points.

s.f./n.o.

this one is setting up as a real ducey. pass.

jax/chi

unless there are high winds, jax to UPSET.

clev/pitt

pitt manages to lose another meaningless game.

atlanta/st louis

not much effort needed here for st louis to win. i don't like 14.5, but will go with st louis anyway.

buff/miami

it's not a matter of miami wanting it bad, it's being able to win. buffalo to cover and perhaps a rare upset in miami.

jets/oak

both teams suck. pass.

k.c./seattle

another upset special. again, seattle wanting/needing it is not enough; they have to have the weapons to win it. kc not giving them anything here and continue their domination of seattle.

phil/tampa

if i were either coach, i would show nothing here except tough defense. not much motivation for either one. much running and punting, a few fgs. under.

minn/balt

the deteriorating situation with minny works to balt's advantage, even if they make a few off. mistakes, as usual. balt covers the 10.

i will tell you a little secret:

i also think dallas will win, especially vs. dietmer.

the secret is that i am wrong 9 out of 10 times on dallas, either way (maybe higher). that is why i would rather pass than go with my conclusion, as i could not go with detroit either.

One thing I learned a long time ago. Those so called must win teams don't cover the last week. We only have one must win game. I know there are other games that have must win tags on them. But Seattle wins or there out period. That is must win. Yes GB would like to win to get a possiable bi or home field game. Same for Chigo, and S Fran, and so on. But those are not must win. Because there already in.

This was reported today in the Atlanta /Journal..

The Rams will earn homefield advantage throughout the playoffs if they beat Atlanta or if Chicago loses to Jacksonville.
The Bears play at 1 PM. The Rams and Falcons kickoff at 4. The Rams might clinch before their game starts. Martz said it would alter their strategy.
If Chicago loses , Martz said " We'll start our guys and play them , and then we will have to really back off some of those guys and protect them so to speak"

If Jacksonville wins over Chicago the 14 1/2 looks enticing...
