Greetings from the perimeter. I trust all is well in the mainstream. Hopefully we can improve upon it. We'll see, I suppose.

Before commencing with the Cow Pies; here's a quick reviewa last week. To wit:

I had winnes with the G-men, the Buff, Denver, SF(Power Pie) and Seattle. Whilst losing botha night games.

All plays 5-2
Power Pies 1-0

This week I've got 5 Cow Pies and 3 Power Pies, along with some other crapola what yuz may or may not find interesting. Frankly, I don't give a rat's ass either way. I mean, I usually just worry about entertainin' myself. Ya see what I'm sayin'?

Uh, sorry, but you'll hafta excuse me for a few minutes. I gotta take another freakin' leak. Man, it sucks gettin' old.

Back in two shakes...

My name is Sue, how do you do?

In memory of the "Man in Black," I think we should oughtta all make a concerted effort this weekend to get in touch with "Cash" as much as possible. Not so's we'll look good to others, but because, dammit, it's the right thing to do.

I hear that train a comin'..."

MIA -3? @ NYJ 37

When investigating this tilt, there seems to be but a single question that requires answering. How will the Fish respond to last week's embarrassing home loss? Seein' as their HC has the reputation of a disciplinarian, my guess is they'll play hard, smart and very conservatively. Meanwhile, the Jets, also offa tough, last minute loss, receive the advantage of three extra days to heal and prepare for their division rival. As you'll be reminded later by my Cow Pies this week, I have a soft spot for dogs, and if forced, that's where I'd be in this one. Otherwise...

CLE +2 @ BAL 40?

These two clubs have what might be called "issues" between 'em. Really, I'm sure it's mostly just the press and fans, but summa that emotion has gotta find its way to the locker rooms, don't it? Hmmm. On one hand, I think these teams are going in opposite directions, but the Browns inept offense last week has me reconsidering. On the other hand, you have different fingers - er - I mean, the Rave is 6-0 against the spread after Pitt and 7-1 ATS as a home favorite in the first four weeksa the season. I guess I'd lean to the points, but...

TEN +@ @ IND 43?

I really don't care much for either of these two. I believe they're both overrated by the public, so I'm usually lookin' to fade 'em. Long story short, I ain't playin' neither, but I like Indy's revenge motive as well as their coaching advantage. Psst. I'm leaning under the total, too.
Pass again

ABC television today announced that they were amending a long-time policy, saying after reviewing the facts that they now believe that "Two" is company.

Sorry about that, Chief.

I'll be back a little later with the resta the card. Like, moo.

Pardon the delays, fellas. Yeah, right. I ain't never been pardoned for nothin'. Oh well. It ain't easy bein' me.

DET +6? @ GB 46?

I came into this game thinking it was probably a good spot for the Pack to bounce back. My research, however, uncovered some fairly strong statistical evidence suggesting that the Lions could carry the confidence and momentum from last week into Lambeau. There is also reason to believe that Green BAy might suffer some lingering ill effects from their Minny loss. Unfortunately, by reason of the preceding, I am forgoing yet another opportunity at victory.

WAS +3 @ ATL 39?

The Skins look like the healthier team and my numbers say they should only be getting one. Plus, I found a nice situational angle what they qualify for. Now this ain't what you'd call a strong endorsment by any means, but dammit, we finally do have action!

REDSKINS +3 over Atlanta

BUF -3 @ JAX 43

In looking over the last few seasons, I found that I played the Buff more than any other team. Hey! I didn't say I was smart! My feeling had been that they were often underrated by the public and therefor they were play-worthy. I ain't sure if I was right about alla that or not, but I'll tell yuz all this - suddenly, the Buff seems to be the "sexy" team in many of the shady circles what I frequent. Hence, my new abhorrance of the Buffalo Bills.

The Jagoffs simply wore down last week. Especially on the defensive line. I'm thinking this is a solvable problem. I'm also thinkin' first-year coaches fare much better in fronta the home fans. And lastly, I'm thinkin' the wrong damn team is favored.

JACKSONVILLE +3 over Buffalo Power Pie

HOU +8 @ NO 40?

To be totally frank, I ain't got much in the way of usable insights on this one. No opinions. No thoughts. No dice.

Pass

SF +3 @ STL 47

I realize that the 49ers have had some difficulties with these guys in recent years, particularly in St. Lou. Now, that's all fine and dandy if'n yuz plan on bettin' on games from the past, but uh, I ain't, ya savvy? At the present time, I think SF is easily the better team here. I know it's a rather simplistic way to handicap the NFL, but gawdam it, that is why I'm on the Niners! Deal with it.

SAN FRANCISCO +3 over St. Louis

PIT +3? @ KC 48

I see the Steelers as the superior squad in this one (what's wrong with the linemakers this year?). And the coaching advantage? Fuhgeddaboudet. I gotta tell ya though, the Chefs are in a spot in which NFL teams have historically flourished over the years. And whilst I ain't ready to spill them particular beans, I will tell yuz this... I'm skippin' this game like it was a flat rock next to a serene transluscent lake.

Pass

CAR +9? @ TB 35

I like the Bucs, okay? Hell, I like 'em a lot. But baby, I LOVE the bucks, if yuz catch my drift. Tampa ain't got enough offense yet to lay double digits (well, close), especially when they lack significant motivational factors. There's a good chance it'll come runnin' through the backdoor, but look for a Carolina cover in this one.

CAROLINA +9?

SEA -4? @ ARZ 44?

Last year in Sun Devil Stadium the Hawks were listed as a 3-point dog. Now, they're favored by 4?? What the hell is goin' on? If you plan on tellin' me about how bad the CArds were last week versus the Lions, don't bother. Arizona out-gained Detroit 439-261! Not exactly dominated, is it? I'll admit, if the Hawks were to open it up on offense they could maybe have a big day against the shoddy Arizona secondary, but Holmgren has become Mr. Conservative of late, and with very good reason, I might add. So, look for somethin' of a squeeker here, okay? Oh, by the way, is it the heat or the humidity what causes alla the problems for people what ain't used to irt? Just wonderin'?

ARIZONA +4? over Seattle Power Pie

I've gotta come back again later, fellas. I'm tryin' to get laid, and well, you know how that can go with the way hookers are these days. Wish me luck!

Gawd help me. I wake up late to the Jagoffs gettin' their butts kicked. And I can't find the gawdam tequila!

NE +4? @ PHI 38

This is another of them games where my fundamental handicapping has me salivating over the birds, but my situational techniques are firmly on the side of the opposing, whattaya call - team. I am leaning (as usual) to Philadelphia. I mean, have you tasted them sandwiches? But I'm only leanin', see?

Pass

DEN -3 @ SD 43

Coach Schottenheimer has some great numbers as a home dog, but I don't see his group scoring much against Denver's defense. I really ain't sure about Plummer doin' Jack, neither, after last week. It sounds like the Clinton Portis show again to me. Actually though, it was the under I had the hardest time leavin' alone, but I did it. Alert the media! Unholycow has passed up a bet which he really liked! It's unbelievable, ain't it?

Pass

CIN +12? @ OAK 45

I have Cincy as an improved team this year. Well, I suppose they'd have to be. Anyway, Oakland was mistake-prone last week and with their badass attitude I think it'll continue for another week. When they get it together, look out. Until then, though, Ill be fading the crap out of 'em. Now, I ain't Catholic and I mean no disrespect, but... Forgive me father for I have Cinncinatti.

CINNCINATTI +12? over Oakland Power Pie

CHI +8? @ MIN 45

Summa my so-called friends have totally enjoyed the demise over the last coupla years of the Minnesota Vikings and their star player, Randy Moss. They think of him as a loud-mouth boob, with alla the class of steer horns on a Cadillac. Personally, I'm lichen Moss, I think he's a fungi. Be that as it may. This game ain't so much about Minny and their home opener on Sunday Night Football. It's about Chicago bein' the league's most abysmal team. The Bears offense is so bad that porous stop units use them to justify their wothiness. What I mean is, the Viking's defense ain't none too hot, but they'll be fired up for a team they know they can shut down. Especially on national television! As a meansa supporta this idea, I point to the Bears record of 1-7ATS versus teams allowing more than 375 yards per game ( I mean, these teams ain't stoppin' nobody). Yeah, I like the Purple in a laugher.

MINNESOTA -8? over Chicago

Pet peeve number 14: Them what 'cap games straight up rather than against the pointspread. I mean, what's the point in alla that!

"Because you're mine, I talk the line."

Monday Night Football a little later.
