Vicc, I did send him an email quite a long time ago and never got a response. I did hear that his wife had some major medical problems, but what it was and what the actual outcome was, I have no idea. He has disappeared, though, from his blogs and all other public stuff he was involved in. I hope he and his family are doing OK.
