NOTES..

Browns can score now baby...:00hour

Josh WeinfussESPN Staff Writer

Josh Rosen showed his poise, confidence and arm in the first half, but he didn't get any help yet Arizona still led at halftime, 10-7. But that difference could've been greater had Christian Kirk, Larry Fitzgerald and J.J. Nelson all come down with spot-on passes from Rosen. The 21-year-old rookie had a good command of the line of scrimmage, calling audibles and moving his linemen into position. He had a beautiful touchdown pass overturned because Chad Williams landed out of bounds but Rosen's arm and accuracy was on display

For the first time this season, the Raiders (0-3) trail at halftime, this time 17-14 to the Browns. Oakland's offense had been sluggish at best in the first half, until an impassioned sideline speech from Marshawn Lynch to the offensive line seemingly jump started a 75-yard TD drive in 8 plays and 4:30. But with the Raiders driving at the end of the half, Derek Carr overthrew Jared Cook and was picked off in the red zone. The Raiders defense is also having a hard time ? again ? of applying pressure to the opposing quarterback as Baker Mayfield is making his first NFL start.

Colts HC Frank Reich said that TY Hilton, who suffered a hamstring injury today, probably will not be able to play Thursday night vs Patriots.

Meanwhile, Colts HC Frank Reich is listed as Doubtful with a sprained decision maker. He will be further evaluated on Indianapolis area talk radio this evening.

The Colts' 4th down attempt was not analytically sound. It was a net -5.1% Win Probability decision (counting a tie as half a win). They needed a 58% chance of conversion for it to be worth the risk, and league average conversion rate in that region of the field is 46%.

Through the first nine games of Week 4, referees called only one penalty for roughing the passer, according to the play-by-play reports of each game. There are still six games remaining, but the very early returns suggest the NFL's rule clarification this week is having an effect. The league totaled 34 such infractions during Weeks 1-3
