NFL WEEK 5

Baltimore at Green Bay
1st Half Line: Baltimore -115, o/u 17.0

The only Ravens game that hit 17 at halftime was when they scored 17 last week vs. the Titans. The other three games totals combined for 25 at half.

The only Packers game that went over 14 at halftime was week one against the Lions. The last three weeks have been 10, 13 and 14.

With a couple of solid defenses, scoring will be at a premium. Getting 17.0 at -110 is a gift. No game has hit 18 or 19 at halftime yet, and both numbers are unlikely. Basically, we are betting it goes under 20 at half, taking a push at 17. I don't see 20 points happening at half.

PICK: Under 17.0 (1x)

Tampa Bay at Tennessee
1st Half Line: Tennessee -1, o/u 16.5

I may take Tampa if I find them +1.5.

Arizona at Chicago
1st Half Line: Chicago -4, o/u 20.0

Taking Arizona +4 at halftime means the Bears need to outscore them by 6 or 7 (or more) to beat the spread. The line is 7. The Cards scored 14 in the first half in Philly. The Bears blew out Atlanta, but only scored 10 in the first half. That makes 13 points now in the first half of three games for the Bears. Even if the Cards don't have it tied, or are winning at halftime, we still win on 6-3, 10-7, 13-10, etc. We push on 10-6, 14-10.

PICK: Arizona +4.0 (2x)

Cleveland at Cincinnati
1st Half Line: Cincinnati -1, o/u 17.5

Bengals have scored 17 points in four first halves. Browns have scored 40 in four, holding opponents to 6. 17.5 is a key number on halftimes. Like I stated above, 18 and 19 haven't happened yet, and aren't likely.

PICK: Cleveland +1 (1x)
PICK: Under 17.5 (1x)

Detroit at Minnesota
1st Half Line: Minnesota -6, o/u 22.5

I got damn lucky last week taking Minnesota/New Orleans under 22.5 That halftime (and game) came VERY close to going over. Regardless, I'm gonna stick with the Vikings 1st half under. It would be 4-0 in the regular season so far, and if preseason halftime lines existed, I believe it would be 8-0 so far.

Detroit hasn't proven they can score, and if they try, they will likely get buried. They should be able to run quite well against the Vikes, and given their QB problems, I bet they do. That is, as long as the score is close. Since the score begins at 0-0, I like the chances of the Lions running effectively in the first half. The Vikings defense has done quite well at not giving up TDs, so the Lions might be running 5-6 minutes off of the clock just to kick a FG. And that's on the possesions they actually score.

The bad news for the under is the fact that Denny Green might be giving up on the run. Only time will tell if this week begins that.

PICK: Under 22.5 (2x)

New Orleans at Carolina
1st Half Line: New Orleans -2.5, o/u 20.0

A favorite giving only 2.5 points at halftime looks good on paper. New Orleans is the better team. Carolina had their day vs. Minnesota. Their day is gone. I like New Orleans by a FG or more.

PICK: New Orleans -2.5 (2x)

New York Giants at St Louis
1st Half Line: St, Louis -6, o/u 22.5

St Louis proved last week they don't kick field goals. They score touchdowns. Giants have no healthy RBs, so they may be forced to pass, regardless of the score. I don't think they have the passing game to rip St Louis up. I probably won't take many favorites -6 at halftime. This is one exception

PICK: St Louis -6 (2x)

Rest of the games to come.
Good luck.

Pittsburgh at Kansas City
1st Half Line: Kansas City -1, o/u 17.5

I may take Pittsburgh if I find them +1.5.

San Diego at New England
1st Half Line: San Diego -1.5, o/u 18.5

I like the San Diego and the over in this game. I'll pass on the halftime lines.

Denver at Seattle
1st Half Line: Den -3.5, o/u 22.0

pass

Miami at New York Jets
1st Half Line: Miami -1.5, o/u 18.5

pass

Oakland at Indianapolis
1st Half Line: Indianapolis -1.5, o/u 27.0

I got over 50 and 51 on the game total. I'll pass on the halftime lines.

Washington at Dallas
1st Half Line:

pass

First Quarters:

Washington at Dallas
1st Quarter Line: Dallas -130, o/u 7.0

I'm still not convinced Washington can score, even against Dallas. The Cowboys haven't had a TD in the first quarter all year. Redskins have scored one TD all year.

PICK: 1st Quarter under 7.0 +100 (1x)

Detroit at Minnesota
1st Quarter Line: Minnesota -3, o/u 7.5

Vikings have scored a TD in the first quarter of the last two games. Detroit has scored two field goals total in the first *half* of three games this year. At +110, I like the under 7'.

PICK: 1st Quarter under 7.5 +110 (1x)

Cleveland at Cincinnati
1st Quarter Line: Cincinnati -115, o/u 7.0

Neither of these teams put up much for points. The odds of two scores in the first quarter is low, and the odds one of those is a TD is even lower. The Bengals have not scored in the first quarter of any of their four games this year! Browns have scored 10 points total in their four first quarters.

PICK: Under 7 (-115) (1x)

Favorite to win one unit. Dogs risk one unit.

Good luck.
