Iowa State gave a lot in the game last week and it was an emotional loss to UT. I always like going against teams in this situation. Techs D has looked good this year and should hold ISU to 14-10 points in the game.
Tech had a very easy game on the road and I'm pretty sure they didn't invest very much into it. They got off to a slow start which tells me they weren't really fired up to play the game. Now Iowa State might not normally mean a lot but this game means something to a good number of the players. Two years ago Iowa State came to Lubbock when the Tech players felt like they were a good team and absolutely bent them over. I'm not sure I've ever seen a beat down like that in Lubbock in all my years of watching Tech football. It's been a talking point all week for the players that were involved in the game.
Tech is healthy going into this game. Yeah they'll be missing the starting qb Mayfield but that's ok because the real starter for the year is back in Brewer. I expect him to be rusty but once he gets going he will move the ball and get points. The offensive line is going to be at full strength this week. Carpenter was back last week and it took him a while to shake off some rust. He's a big key to Techs o line and last week showed it. He's the leader and the younger guys feed off of him.
Like always there will be no matchup for Amaro and that will end up breaking down the ISU defense.
Tech breaks them early and the game is never close.
