October has been a struggle, but I like today's games and win or lose it will be another great day of college football games. We have big conference games all over the place today, so today will go a long way in determing who will be playng with more chips at stake come November.
Here goes:
Iowa -3, -139, over Wisco. I dont think the Badgers can pull out of thier tailspin. Iowa is better across both lines. They've contained top backs all season, so they will bottle up Bucky's power run. Meanwhile on offense, Shon Green will get another 100 yards. Hawks get better QB play from Stanzi than Wisco will get from Everidge. Iowa D allows just 10 ppg and the Badgers have struggled to score since the non creampuff part of slate kicked in. To me, the Hawks have the better lines, QB and defense. I like them a lot at home today.
NW -4 over Purdue. Is Northwestern a bowl team? I say they are. Thats important when you consider that since 2005 Purdue is just 4-21 SU, 7-18 ATS against teams that ended up playing in a bowl. Three of those SU wins have come agaisnt Central Michigan. In league play, those numbers get worse. Purude is just 1-13 SU, 2-12 ATS against Big 10 Bowlers. Expect Northwestern's passs rush to knock Purdue around and Tyrell Sutton on offense to have his best game of the season against a shaky Boiler D.
WMU/CMU O58.....man, I want to hammer Central here, but this line has me in knots. Western can play with them and should have beaten them last year in one of the season's craziest games. I am avoiding a side because anything can happen in this game. Anything, that is, except for a defensive struggle. Shoot out all the way in this one.
TT/Tamu O64.....speaking of shootouts. Aggies have the league's worst scoring defense. This could get ugly for their D. Not sold either, though, on the Red Raiders on D, and the Aggies have as much playmakers as Nebraska does and the Huskers got over 30 last week against Tech. Loser in today's game will still exceed 30 points.
Tamu +21 pver TT. If this game was in Lubbock I would lay these points. Just a hunch that Aggie pride finds a way to stay in this ball game. Its too much of a rivalry for the road team to win by more than 3 TDs
Vandy +16.5 over UGA. Staying with the SEC Double Digit Dog bandwagon. Its still winning money.
Memphis +8 over ECU. As a little known, little respected team, ECU cashed a lot of winning tickets in the underdog role. Its been compelling the last month or so watching them crumble under the weight of the favored tag. They'll get all they can handle today from a Memphis team that is playing much better than people are giving them credit for.
Conn +2.5 over Rutgers......not sure much has changed since last season when the Huskies ran all over the Knights. I know Rutgers has been close the last couple of weeks and no they're returning home in a revenger, but I dont think they cans top UConn's running game. The misery continues for Rutgers.
Well, how about that. I have eight plays coming up in the nooners. And, a few other games came close to the list. Not sure what I am doing with this spree?!?!
You know what? I'll just pour a drink, enjoy some football and see what happens!
Good Luck!!! :toast:
