NFL to Date at MadJacks:
Sides 7-8-1
Totals 1-0-0
Teasers 0-1-0

Early Looks:

(1) Phil(-4) vs. Minn
Sooey at the pig trough. I am liking the idea that Minn and I have both had to wait these two weeks for their match up on the road against a physical and well coached team. Putting Philly in jeopardy of losing their 4th game at home? Anything is possible, but I'll trust my instincts on this one.

(2) Pitt(-3) vs. Clev
I think Pittsburgh provides value here. Not that I couldn't find some angles on Cleveland, too.

Farther down the pecking order:

(3) Denv(-6.5) vs. SD
Looks like a good spot to remember that SD won only one game last year. The team that really has to get it done in this spot being good enough to do it.

(4) Det(+5) vs. TB
Finally, the most attractive to me of the divisional home dogs.

Keeping busy.

Things you find while looking up other things:

Reason(s) the Lions Will Beat the Bucs (edited comments of a skeptical Lion's fan):

It is expected that Charlie Batch will once again split time at quarterback with rookie 5th round pick Mike McMahon. McMahon's record at Rutgers the last two years was 1-10 and 3-8, while Coach Marty Mornhinweg's team is 0-7 this year. The kid's a winner.

Coming off a 4-2 Saturday is far from the norm.

Philadelphia(-4) @ 3.5*

Pittsburgh(-3) @ 2*

Denver(-5.5) @ 1*

Detroit(+5) @ 1*
This pick could miss by a mile, but it still looks like a decent play.

Also, a 4-team parlay (at 15-1) @0.5* using these teams.

Oakland/Seattle(Over 42.5) @1*
These lines are getting to be a lot of fun to try and cap, and then sit back and watch. Interested to see how this week's totals choice plays out.

The Bears are a nice club right now that you have to respect, and they are having one of those magical seasons that are as good as it gets. That should not be enough to handle the Packers today.
