On the course!
Week: 5-4-1 +$10.50
Total: 11-7-1 -$1.50

1-1 in profit weeks
-----------------------------------------

Still below the 'even money' mark, but the plan is working out okay. I am not overextending myself by placing too many wagers, and the w/l results are above pace.

I hit my 10 wager mark for the week, and even though one of then was a push, and I have some wagers I like this evening, I am sticking to my plan. I feel one of the most important aspects of this test, is to stay with what I started with.

  • Have a goal
  • "manage the cabbage"

Those are two or the biggies. I feel if you alter from your plan, you are showing lack of discipline in every sense of the word, and that is a prime concern for a gambler.

As much as I would like to show a profit after two weeks, I can't stray from the plan.

See you next week, and as always:

Any advice or criticism will be looked at, and is appreciated.

Regarding your results, I notice that you are in negative units, yet you would be up 3.3 units if you were flat betting (I'm assuming that you're not betting on moneyline favorites in hockey or anything else.) Are you tracking your plays by rating? The results after 10 weeks should be revealing as to whether the rating system is actually working in your favor.

I'm enjoying your experiment. Thanks for the effort.

I don't have anything to add or suggest. I wanted to let you know that I am enjoying watching this, though. It has made me strap down on my stupid wagers as well.

So this experiment has already helped one person out.

Keep up the good work...as your posts (and my results) the last two weeks have forced me to re-evaluate my "progressive play" system.... I may have to revert to a "straight play" system for next year.... I look forward to future progress reports...

Good luck in all your endeavors!

Skins,

I am not an advocate of the flat bet. This is one thing that may change with this test.

I know a few guys stated that they flat bet only, and once in a while double that bet on a stronger play. Well, guess what? You ain't a flat better, then!

I think the amount of players who bet the same thing on every wager, has to be quite small. That is almost impossible to do.

As stated before, if you like a game, and feel it is about 7 points off the line, you would be "x" dollars. Now, if your math had the game line 30 points off, would you not risk more? I think most would. The beef I have, is that when they lose, you do go deeper in the hole. (So, you are correct on saying I would be up with a flat bet.) I think the plays will turn around over the next six weeks, when I have bigger plays.

Thanks again to all of you.
