Urrghh, back at work

Nothing fancy this weekend to report.
A very disappointing 0-2 in the rugby tests with the Wallabies walloping the real eye-opener. They were horrendously outplayed in all aspects and I'll have to re-evaluate for game two. However, I'm not going to jump all over the Lions after one game - it's a common and easy enough handicapping error to change tack on one match. The Aussies do have an awful lot to work on but anyone who thinks they can't turn fortunes around in one game weren't watching the State of Origin series

Much more on this series to follow.
We didn't have much fortune missing out on the All Blacks v France game. Got a break when Norm Maxwell was unluckily sinbinned for 10 minutes but France missed the resulting penalty which would have closed the gap to 23-15 midway thru the second half and also turned over crucial ball when on attack v 14 men. Even at 23-12 with seven minutes to go +21.5 looked good but two converted late tries killed us. A special thanks to the TV commentator who said when Doug Howlett came on with three minutes left (score 30-12) and said "Howlett has scored a try in every test he's played. It's surely asking too much to expect him to keep that record now."

Cue Doug Howlett try 12 seconds later...

The Origin result was an easy winner; almost covering the number by halftime. Defence seems to be a forgotten art this season in most circumstances. The game was a coaching lesson delivered to Wayne Pearce from Wayne Bennett.

The happiest note was another winning AFL weekend (2-1); the third on the trot. After wondering whether I should persevere with the code, it is now into a profit zone, along with the other two "staple diet" offerings.

Did get some time on my week off to update NRL stats in relation to covering the number. And there are some truly

revelations to follow...

Hope you all had a good weekend
