Looked like being very ugly but a 4-1 Sunday saved me from humiliation
AFL: 2-2
Still proving a real tough comp to get a handle on as the unpredictable results continue. Got wins with the Kangaroos and the Eagles but the Blues were abysmal and the Pies thumped the Doggies.
Note: Well done Gloveski for the big resurgence - told ya to
stick at it
NRL: 2-1
Happy to get back on the winning track here after a couple of rough weeks. I think the key was playing less games - cut the wagers down to the three best bets I could find that truly offered value.
Got a tad lucky with the late Eels cover on Fri; had the Raiders up by 12 pts twice before the a$$ fell out v the Panthers and then the Eagles/Cowboys under was a nice profit-maker after the deluge of errors I pointed to in the write-up dictated the score not reaching astronomic proportions.
NPC: 2-1
Also pleasing to kick off this season with a profit.
Taranaki threw away the chance to win and cover on Friday night but the mighty Mooloo men of Waikato responed by giving their neighbours a total towelling. This should have been a two-unit game - I thought about it but chickened out being down for the weekend at that stage and didn't want to chase. But realistically, this was a bad line that deserved hammering.
The profit came from a ML dog winner in the lesser-spotted Div Two comp as Thames Valley pipped King Country - delighted that a little local knowledge paid off
Int rugby: 0-1
Soul-destroying this one. If ever the ABs were in a good spot to win one this was it. But the weaknesses of the side just dominated while their strengths were completely ignored. Fuming
Weekend overall: 6-5 (54.55%)
