Still one game left to play with the Storm at home in the NRL v the Panthers Monday night but what the hell; let's wrap up what we've seen so far...

NPC: A second consecutive 2-1 weekend, again recovering after a bad start with a Friday night loser.
Taranaki (+3.5) were just awful, Wellington much improved, 'nuff said.
Northland (+12.5) gave it a good crack against Canterbury and home advantage, Canterbury's rustiness and a decent start saw us get home with 4.5 points to spare.
Southland (+6.5) took advantage of the wind to get up 14-0 at halftime but had to hang on against the elements in the second spell in a 24-all draw which also got us the cover.
Big weekend for the dogs in Div One, 4-1 ATS with only Wellington as a covering chalk.

ML bets on dogs went 0-2 but weren't far away as Wanganui went down by 7 to East Coast, and in the ball-breaker, Marlborough at $4 led HB 26-23 in injury time only to conceded a converted try

Weekend: 2-1 (66.67%); ML Dogs 0-2 (-1.5 units)

AFL: Again, a crappy start with me blatantly diregarding advice from the guru

and paying for it as the Roos were swamped by the Crows. I tell ya, I really hate those 0-2 Fri nites

But not a bad bounce back. Bombers kick six straight to break a 68-all tie with the Pies and then get a behind from Rioli with a minute to go to beat the hook - cheers.
Today was very sweet, as two dogs win SU with the Bulldogs and the Demons.

Weekend: 3-1 (75%)

NRL: Also a solid result as Sat set me up. The under was as easy as it comes in the Warriors/Roosters game. Warriors turn up the heat defensively at Ericsson on a Sat nite and the cruddy Akl winter weather sure helps. Big asset here if you can get an accurate forecast early enough - not as easy as it sounds

- for bad-weather unders.
Both big dogs covered their spreads, as the Tigers and the Cowboys hung tough for us. Just pipped on a real juicy parlay though as the Eels scored late to take away the 1-12 spread to go with the Warriors win

No go today though with the Sharks/Broncos over - you wonder if there is any petrol left in the Brisbane tank despite them giving it plenty on empty.

Weekend: 3-1 (75%); one game pending; Parlay -1 unit

Weekend overall:
NPC: 2-1 (66.67%); ML -1.5 units
AFL: 3-1 (75%)
NRL: 3-1 (75%); Parlay -1 units
Overall: 8-3 (72.73%); others - -2.5 units

2001 Season to Date:

AFL: 34-29 (53.97%)

NRL: 51-44 (53.68%)

SUPER 12: 27-13 (67.50%)

INTERNATIONAL RUGBY: 5-5 (50.00%)

NPC: 4-2 (66.67%); ML Dogs _ 0-2 (-1.5 units)

*NFL: 15-10-1 (61.54%)

Overall: 136-103-1 (56.90%)

* I only post my NFL plays at onthepunt; not much point in posting them at MJs when half the work on them is done by Nolam, taxi driver, kc wolf etc. But learning from good cappers is a skill too

Here is the record of my weekend performance.

What a start to the english soccer season with all three posted plays winning and the followed up by picking the draw (not posted) in the Everton-Tottenham game at 3.25. My one Scottish play taught me once again why you never parlay short priced favorites as only 1 of the three results actually occurred. Hopefully, this is only the beginning to a profitable season.

Soccer: (4-1) Average Winner Price 2.10

A great weekend began in AFL when I backed the Crows straightup at 2.45. i then followed by getting Richmond home on Saturday Afternoon although there were some worrying times when West Coast got within 30.
The weekend ended in a split with Brisbane easily accounting for Fremantle but Sydney were very poor in being beaten by Melbourne.

I can't believe my turn around in AFL I have gone from 10 units down to 0.7 Units down and with a real possibiltiy of ending in profit.

AFL: 3-1 (75%)

In the NRL I went 1-1 with Parra and my own poor research letting me down as Parra won 18-4 but failed to cover the 17 point spread. In hindsight, if I had checked the weather this probably would have been no play. On Sunday things turned around when the Sharks beat Brisbane.

NRL 1-1 (These play weren't posted)
