Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi has been suspended two games by the organization for conduct detrimental to the team.
Taurasi, the league?s second-leading All-Star vote-getter, faces three drunk-driving related charges including a charge of ?extreme DUI.? She was pulled over on the morning of July 2. A Phoenix police report indicates her blood-alcohol level was 0.17, more than twice the legal limit.
The former No.1 overall draft pick will miss games on Saturday against Detroit and on July 22 against Minnesota.
Taurasi is averaging a team and league-high 20.7 points per game.
