Anyone who has ever been to a few Nascar races has probably sat in a few hours traffic and it only gets worse the closer to the start of the event.

Texas Speedway is bad. If the race starts at 1:00 then you need to plan on getting to the track about 9:00am if you want to get in and to your seat by noon. If you plan getting there around noon then your are going to miss half the race at least.
Las Vegas is not much better and leaving Vegas is about 3 hours to get back to the strip which is 15 minutes away. 100K leaving a place at the same time going the same direction on a 3-4 lane freeway. You do the math.
