I live 1 mile from Quail Hollow. On Hand. 1 case of Vodka. 4 Halve Gal. of Jonney Walker. 4 halves of Jack Daniel. 3 halves of Rum. 1 half gal. Beefeaters. Wife in charge of wine and wheat. and yes we are expecting company.

Ian and Dustin withdrew this afternoon. New sodded greens on 8 & 10 as of last Wednesday. Johnney Harris has seen better days at his club. No Tiger but they still sold out of tickets.

Cloudy and cool is the forcast through Sunday. A shower or two possible. ENJOY!

This course and event are my favorite on tour. Such a great event. Bad signs with the greens and also with all of these late wd's. Also a troubling sign to see Tiger pull out of an event like this one. They are still getting a major here in a couple years, so I guess they have that going for them. Have fun. I wish I was still living in Charlotte and could attend.

Players and Caddies talk about how well they are treated while they are here for the Colonial....I love the Charlotte area. Every piece of grass, median, corner is well kept by the Parks Team. Every Park is multiuse and just unreal. This should be the mold for all Parks Teams across the US...can't wait to return.

Charlie Beljan to win 185-1

This guy gives great interviews, he has a good voice too. Charlie won one last year and made a second this year at Riviera. His problem is good rounds followed by bad rounds, most of the time. You need four good rounds, or at least three, in order to win, maybe Beljan can do it again.

Last Week (Overall)

Matchups 6-7-2 -2.35u (77-64-14 +6.8u)
Outrights/Finishes 0-5 -.7u (-3.85 u)

Wells Fargo Championship

Outright
Simpson 20/1 (.2u)
Watney 28/1 (.2u)
Haas 33/1 (.2u)
Cabrera 55/1 (.1u)
De Jonge 63/1 (.1u)
Walker 65/1 (.1u)

Top 10
McIlroy +110 (1u)

Matchups (1u)

D.A. Points +2.5 ov Haas +103 ? At these odds and grabbing 2 strokes, I think Points is worth a shot here given his current form and performance last year losing in the playoff to Fowler/McIlroy.

Garrigus ov Van Pelt -135 ? Garrigus has finished ahead of Van Pelt in 5 of 7 similar events this year. Van Pelt has missed the cut in four of eight stroke play events while Garrigus has MC only once in 9 events. Garrigus also has good course form here finishing 15-9 the past two years.

Goosen ov Huh +100 ? Goosen has finished ahead of Huh in 4 of 5 similar events this year. Both missed cut last year but Goosen has had some success here with an 11th in 2009 and a 10th in 2006.

Thanks. Nice to be back. Been on the suspended list for about 18 months. :0074

Hard not to like the NC guys (Webb, Haas, De Jonge). A lot of big names have withdrawn so Im sure the odds have been adjusted. Im staying away from this event, mainly because of the uncertainty of the greens. GL on your plays.

Tournament matchups:
Westwood +150 over Rory
Harrington +115 over Kaymer
Simpson -120 over Mickelson
Kirk -145 over Stanley 2 units - I give Stanley a 50/50 chance at making the cut.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Outrights:

Kyle Stanley(80/1) e.w.
Kevin Stadler(100/1) e.w.
John Huh(100/1) e.w.
Lucas Glover(66/1) e.w.
Bill Haas(28/1) e.w.
Sergio Garcia(22/1) e.w.
Russell Henley(66/1) e.w.
Lee Westwood(18/1) e.w.
- - The greens being what they are, I have no problem swerving away from the market leaders (Westwood and Simpson to be specific) for higher priced outsiders, although the prices have certainly fallen through attrition and such . . . I still be tracking Glover for Sawgrass, and a missed cut this week would sort of enhance that opportunity, but he can come good here instead, and sadly the weekend birdie rush for the contenders last week was a bridge too far . . . I've been waiting on Stanley, but it looks like I'm waiting no more, and he could arrive at this big boy venue with the training wheels off . . . Stadler IMO is clearly in the best form of his life, and the greens may well suit his chances . . . Huh was tracking decent IMO before the bounce that comes from finishing 11th at the Masters . . . Henley has tapped a solid vein of form and has really significant connections to this place . . . I don't think the greens favor Garcia's temperament, but I had my eyes on him coming in . . . Haas is not a million miles away . . . O.K., I'll let Westwood as a newly-minted 40-something carry my cash as the two-putt machine.

Cheers, DT. :toast:

Round 1 plays (2pts):

Bo Van Pelt to beat Nicolas Colsaerts +102 @ Pinnacle [also available @ 5Dimes, BetVictor, The Greek and Carib]
Not sure why BVP is the underdog in this matchup. He has finished ahead of Colsaerts in five of six common 1st rounds this year and whereas Colsaerts has yet to play on this course, Van Pelt has played in each of the last eight years, making six cuts and securing finishes of 5th (2010 when he was the 1st round leader) and 6th (2006 when he led after 2 rounds).

John Senden to beat Boo Weekley -110 @ BetVictor and The Greek [available generally]
Another course regular in Senden who has played here in each of the ten years of the event and secured eight top-40 finishes. Weekley has just one top-40 finish here in five attempts so even though he played well last week, this is not a course on which he has traditionally played well.

Zach Johnson to beat Kevin Streelman -105 @ Bet365
Streelman is another who hasn't played well on this course - he has missed the cut in all three previous visits with a scoring average of 75.00. Johnson can't match Streelman for form this year - though he has started tournaments much better: 4-2-1 in rd1 in 2013 - but he does have a good course history unlike Streelman.

John Senden to beat Jordan Spieth +100 @ Bet365
Spieth is making his course debut so in a season in which he has blown hot and cold, I'll oppose him on this course where length off the tee is so helpful.

Charles Howell to beat Kevin Streelman +100 @ 5Dimes [also available @ William Hill]
Howell has played much better than Johnson this year - he leads Streelman 4-3-0 h2h in 2013 and 5-1-1 in rd1 - so I'll also back him against Streelman.
