This Team / Head Coach / Ass't Coaches is an embarrassment to NCAA Basketball.

The WVA Athletic Director should be fired over this team and Coaching staff.

Everything about this team is lifeless.

And it has been allowed to continue for a long time.

As an alumnus...I am red faced embarrassed by the basketball program...the players have quit and Gale Catlett has lost control. Trust me...the natives are about to skin Ed Pastilong and Catlett both...there was a walkout tonight similar to Depaul.....I have stated all along..Bobby Huggins will return to his alma mater and resurrect this program. Look for an announcement sometime in the next few weeks that Catlett will retire due to health problems and soon after the season it will be announced Huggins will return to Morgantown.

Freeze...this will happen...insider info here...Huggins is in the last year odf contract and will collect multi million dollar annuity due to him in March.

Wilson & Buddy,

While I feel your pain and think there will be a change in coaching this year, I don't think that you have given Gale Catlett his proper respect for his many years of service to West Virginia. I know things are pretty bad right now and it is always what have you done for me lately. It a shame that his career will end this way.

The Big East is pretty tough and someone has to finish near the bottom(I am a big Rutgers fan and alum, so I surely know what that has felt like since our good years in the late 70's!).

Thanks...

but, a great deal of those wins were racked up in the Eastern 8/Atlantic 10 and that conference was not the strongest...Bottom line..Gale did a good job in the eighties and was very competitive...but, in all those years we have been to one sweet 16...one! God I love my Mounties...but, this team is loaded with talent and Gale has failed to do his job.

I'm all for giving Catlett his due. Evidently, it's not easy to coach college basketball and to have a winning record over several consecutive seasons is respectworthy.

However, to lose control of a team the way he has is not right.

It's damn near inexcusable.

I've watched one helluva lot of basketball.

The performance I saw tonight by West Virginia, if not the worst, is definitely one of the bottom two.

That was absolutely pathetic.
