1st round at 5 dimes:

Appleby +148 over leonard/Kaymar

exceptional streak for Appleby disregarding last week missed cut, having had 5 consecutive top 10 finishes in a row in PGA/WGC events. with 1st round being his strongest round

72 holes--
Ames +113 over Weir @ Pinn

field +120 over Tiger @ H'wood

WGC CA Championship - Tournament Matchups
Tiger Woods
Field (Any Other Golfer) 03/20/08(10:45 ET)
Field (Any Other Golfer) +120

Can't say as I ever seen such field odds in strong field--unless he leads wire to wire should again be ample hedges/scalps as last week.

adding 72 @ 5D

Sport / Period: PGA WGC Golf / Game
Line:
Scott Verplank (Tourn) 3/20/2008 12:15:01 PM - (EST)
+110
Opponent: Brandt Snedeker (Tourn)

--also 1st outright post of year ----@ Unibet

CA-Championship 2008 - Winner
Place (1-5)
Who will win?
Your bet: Single, Verplank, S USD 10.00 23.00 3/23/08 Pending

Believe Verplank under valued because of previous missed cuts--

However has had 2 top 5's both coming off cuts in last 8 events--also has had top 5 previously on this course.

If you'd have got 6/1 place on him in every event he played in 07 you'd have broke even--getting almost 4 times that--

Round 2 plays (1pt):

Trevor Immelman to beat Martin Kaymer -120 @ Bet365
Mark Calcavecchia to beat Martin Kaymer -130 @ Five Dimes
It's a different story when Kaymer leads after one round, but when otherwise in the top-10, he has shot 73 or higher in five of six times occasions. With a poor record on American courses until now, he should revert to type today

Ernie Els to beat Geoff Ogilvy -110 @ WSEX [also available at Carib & Pinnacle]
Can never be too sure about Ernie's motivation these days, but Ogilvy's record when holding a 1st round lead is poor: he averages over 73 in the 2nd round, with no round less than 72 and he has never held onto the lead after the 2nd round

Round 3 plays (1pt):

Vijay Singh to beat Phil Mickelson +105 WSEX [also available at Carib & Pinnacle]
It's been over 6 years since Lefty finished in the top-20 of a WGC strokeplay event and after a promising start on Thursday he is back down the leaderboard again, so I can't see him as favourite as Vijay who has a much better record in these and bounced back well yesterday

Jeev Milkha Singh to beat Miguel Angel Jimenez -101 @ Pinnacle [also available at Carib & WSEX]
Big difference in form between these two as Jimenez's best finish of the year is 25th, while Singh has been a runner-up twice. Even in terms of their head-to-head record Singh dominates: 7-1-2 in the 3rd round over the last 12 months
