I think the democrats were too chicken to vote either way so they probably pulled the COWARD move of uniting as one to pussy out of the entire vote.

NOTHING LIKE LIBERAL OBSTRUCTION!!!!

No plan...no ideas....no leadership....only attack and obstruct the majority. It's the liberal way.

surprised about the vote happening then the lopsided votes on top of that. i need to read more about it, but i would think with all of the negative comments re: us till being theree, the nay sayers would have voted to leave soon.

They were too scared to show their true colors Mjolnir. WAY TO GO G.O.P.!!!!!

All these liberals said Saddam had WMD's and he was a threat, then they say the president lied and they all forgot about their own statements. It's an utter disgrace to the nation and our troops overseas.

But with Howard Dean as your party chairman, what do you expect?

i certaintly dont want to get brutal on this, but i am very curious as to what the reasons were for the liberals to vote against the very thing they have been very adamant about.

They are liberals, what do you expect??? They like to surrender, and obstruct. They get scared when challenged. This was a horrible day for them, but a great day for America....we sent a message to Al QUEDA TODAY!!!!

To answer your question Mjol,
You see....it's tough to understand liberal logic...let's try..........

*********If they voted to keep troops there in Iraq...they would be complete hypocrites based on their continued "cut and run" stance.

*************If they chose for troops to start coming home, it would show a sign of surrender and it wouldn't sit well with the majority of Americans, who just so happen to be conservative

They prob united together to throw the vote. It's like showing up at a baseball game and rufusing to take the feild.

How embarrassing for the democrats!!!!!!!! :mj07:

Here is what I think about this:

Here is what the resolution actually said, not that you want to deal with the FACTS, nor the TRUTH. The actual vote was done on a conservative resolution that changed the language of Murtha's actual proposed resolution...and why do you think they did that?

Murtha's resolution included language the Republicans wanted to avoid, such as "the American people have not been shown clear, measurable progress" toward stability in Iraq. It also said troops should be withdrawn "at the earliest practicable date."

Ok, now, conservative backslappers...is immediate withdrawal, which is what your conservatives manipulated and changed to be the language the same thing as "at the earliest practicable date?"

No, it isn't. The Conservatives used this as a political stunt, and hope nobody will notice. The actual vote on the resolution was not what was actually proposed by Murtha. That is the truth.

Republicans wanted to avoid??? how about republicans DISAGREE with. theres a difference

plus. you say you state facts LOL! which conservatives
be more specific. but i know thats not your area of expertise.

the political stunt was pulled on the liberal side. If any liberal would be dumb enough to vote to pull out early. thats political suicide for them in 06 and 08. do i need to break it down further for you?

Yeah god forbid a liberal ever vote based on his own words. It depends on what the political climate is like that day. A liberal, John Kerry for example, wets his finger and sticks it into the wind before he votes. I think it was high time for these loud-mouth hypocrite liberals to shut the hell up and put it to a vote. The result = they all chickened out. Complete cowards.

Like I asked...why do you think the republicans changed the wording of the proposed legislation from:

"at the earliest practicable date"

to

"immediate withdrawal"?

The democrats voted against it in an organized protest directly because of this change of language. So, your points are off base.

I guess one could take the same leap of faith that you make, Charles, and say the republicans were chickens about the resolution the way it was proposed and knew they had to change it either because there is escalating support from the public for that very proposal or to pull a political stunt?

How do you vote on a yes or no only vote. For sure with a election next year. You vote NO. If they would have had some sense in the bill the vote would have changed. It's funny after all the nasty talk last Thursday/Friday they all are kissing each others ass today. But congress has no balls to do there job and put a plan in place. It would not be followed by Administration they will do what ever they want. But at least congress would have a record of what they suggested. We should all now there something wrong. We have about 6 generals and they disagree about how to handle this. We did do what was laid out as our adjectives. At least first three. And in those first three there was no mention of nation bldg or elections.

your thoughts please.... :)

funny how a guy can get up there and say one thing ever so adamantly and forcefully then vote against it the next day

either he is

1. Senile
or
2. Very senile

Take your pick, the guy needs to retire
