Sean Penn?

I"m watching him in a small and strange film named "This Must be the Place". While the movie is actually pretty good I like the fact that he chooses roles that interest him. Just curious as to what others think of him.

No not really. Some people like him. I think he's a good actor. I mean, after thirty replies naming golf balls, this can't hurt.

Speaking as a liberal I think for most Americans he burned his 'cool wanna help the world' actor card when he went to Iran. Regardless of whether he had good intentions or was too much of a dumbass to know better I think it was perceived as a Jane Fonda moment.

I like him, not my favorite but he's OK. Liked Mystic River a lot, maybe my favorite of his.

I have no idea how he got out of prison so soon after being arrested for espionage. Those secrets he sold to the Russians put US lives at risk.

He manipulated his best friend to personally get rich and then his friend also was caught and went to jail. He was even selling cocaine before he started selling secrets.

I'm not saying he hasn't made good movies... his early shit earned him that credibility. I'm just saying he squandered it....
