when go wd-last-last 2nd to last ?
--nearly 4 times what the winner receives.
My question is when do the winners revolt?
Wie has earned more on coming in last/missing cuts than any lpga player this year--might be a little animosity from that tour also. :)

TEENAGE wonder girl Michelle Wie, who was reportedly guaranteed almost US$870,000 ($1.3 million) by Casio for her appearance at the Casio World Open in Kochi, is not sure if she would be invited back for next year's event.

'There is nothing on the drawing board at present,' said the tournament's chief secretary Hiroyuki Miyazaki.

India's Jeev Mikha Singh, who won the event, bagged US$239,000.

I suppose it will end when the sponsors decide she isnt worth it.

I dont like it from a purists point of view, but I suppose the sponsors feel like they are getting good value for money....and to a degree its in everyone's interest to keep the sponsors happy.

I do think Wie is being poorly advised. She would benefit more from being in contention on the LPGA rather than out the back door in some minor men's tourny.

As an aside, I love your zeal on this topic DTB! :)

Saw a piece on Golf Central News last week about Michelle Wie and making the comparison with Tiger ... the striped one had been dominant as an amateur and created an aura of invincibility when he first arrived on the PGA Tour, whereas Wie has managed to create none of that despite her, arguably, comparable talent.

I don't think she was poorly advised to start playing in "men's" events, but she has been definitely poorly advised to continue doing so as her failures became ever more embarrassing.

I agree Stan --I even don't have prob with her continuing to play in Sony--on her home turf but believe it may be taking toll on her as she hasn't broke par in last 2 LPGA tourneys she's played.
--and just when I "almost" begin to feel sorry for her she comes up with one liner (--"get used to it")after recent Japan humiliation when questioned about continuing play vs men--
So evidently she assumes she is entitled to life time of free rides despite her performance--however not so sure that will happen--as media and sportswriters are beginning to turn on her like rabid dog after egg on their faces for their over exuberance on her ability.
