I think the single season lowest ERA was "3 finger" Brown with a 1.04 for one year.

Best hitter of all time in my opinion would have to be Ty Cobb or Ted Williams. Just my 2 cents.

Hate to disagree with you but Ruth was the best hitter of all time.Just look at the stats of players of that era,& compare it to Ruth's.Ruth hit more homeruns than some teams did.I would then rate Williams as #2.
