Just wondering what the numbers are on this? I know that most talk shows and threads seem to think the Saints get blowed out?
I find it difficult, Yes I am a Homer.... to see this not being a shoot out with last team holding the ball wining:shrug:
Facts and info would be much appreciated.

Who Will Win Super Bowl XLVI?

Indianapolis Colts New Orleans Saints vote to see results The New Orleans Saints are the 2009 NFC Champions.

After defeating the Minnesota Vikings 31-28, the Saints are headed to their first Super Bowl in their 42 year history.

As they head to Miami, Saints fans should be warned: Super Bowl virgins usually don't finish first.

Since Super Bowl I in 1966, only seven teams have won their first Super Bowl berth: the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The remaining 18 teams lost their first (second...third...fourth...) Super Bowl apperances: Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Colts, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals.

Since losing their first Super Bowls, Kansas City, Baltimore, and the Rams franchises have each won a Super Bowl. Denver and Miami have won two, the Raiders have won three, Washington and New England have won three, and Dallas has won five.

The Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals are still searching for their first.

The Baltimore Colts moved to Indianapolis in 1984. Since then, the Colts franchise won a title in 2006, and the Baltimore Ravens captured their own in 2000.

The Saints hope to be added to the seven teams to win their first Super Bowl berth. Of those teams, only two teams have not been back for more titles: the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Saints, who have a record of 275-378-5 since 1967, have had only nine winning seasons in franchise history.

Where it is real F ing COLD
For what it is worth I do not see the Saints getting blown out in this either.. The Saints have a knack of getting a turnover or two. I know the Colts have good ball control.. Now look at last week when the Saints played the Vikings.. Yeah the Vikes shut them down in the second half but the Colts DO NOT HAVE the defensive personel that the Vikings do and it isn't even close.. The Colts are going to have tons of matchup problems.. I bring that up because I think people's (public and media) perception of the second half of last week's game has given people a misconception about what the Colts can do to the Saints offense.. It just won't happen. For example everyone saw what Dallas did to Philly for 2 weeks straight,, The misconception was that Dallas could do that to anybody. People forgot that the Vikes were just a better team at almost every position than Philly.

Now on the other side.. Stopping Peyton will obviously be a daunting task but the Saints offense should keep them in until the end.

Thanks BP, my thoughts last week were the NFC championship game would determine the Superbowl winner.
I agree with everything you have said, and find some comfort in the fact the rookie qb passed with some ease against the colts. Thanks again BP, :toast:

My question is ARE THE SAINTS going to be able to play a good solid 60 minutes of football outside of their DOME????
If they do this, this game will be very close and as you said could come down to who has the ball last.
If they cannot stay the course, play solid sound football on both sides of the ball they are done!!
