...the sad part is that this is not even close to a comprehensive list...and until states get tougher on offenders not registering when they move, it will continue to be so.... Granted some states are tougher than others, but overall most do very little to enforce these registration laws. :scared :cursin:

my thinking is that the laws aren't really enforced is because it violates someones rights (according to the aclu).
i think the right to raise your child in an area without sicko's is paramount. call me old fashioned.

...if the laws (on the books today, as written) really violated someone's rights, the aclu would have already been in court in an attempt to get the law ruled unconstitutional...don't kid yourself. The states can only expand your rights, they cannot grant you less rights than you're provided under the US Constitution....

...the states don't enforce them because either 1.) it too much of a hassle (i.e. we just don't have the manpower with this limited budget) or 2.) because they have more pertinent problems to deal with.... (i.e. the voters are bitching about something else like theft, rape, murder, etc.)

...but that's just my 2 cents. :)

7 in my zip code. One is a woman (looks like she was charged for letting a live-in mess with her kids), and one is in a nursing home. All are sex offenders.
