....before the start of the March tournament....

Just curious to know what I would have taken back on a c-note......

Had to be a low payout as they were a number 1 seed figured to go most if not all the way?

4-1 or slightly under 4-1 were the highest UNC lines to win it all before the tourney started.

Thanks for the reply, Scott.....

I never was big on playing futures....seemed like tying up money for too long only to watch it lose before the end.....and I never liked the thought of betting into a proposition where any of about 10 or so teams have a legitimate shot at winning it all.....upsets happen......

If I play these things I usually play the longshots and hope for a winning lottery ticket....

Kicked myself a couple years ago when what's his face won the homerun derby at 20 to 1 odds.....Ida probably put at least a fifty on him.....but who the hell needs a crummy thousand dollar return?

I have been told that casino's make a lot of $$$ off future wagers. So I guess its a bad bet.

The only thing I don't like about future wagers is the risk of injuries. I put my 6 NCAA future bets in on Jan. 31st and since then I had to sweat out injuries. Luckily nobody got injured on all 6 teams. Other than the injury issue, I think futures are great bets. They also give you lots of hedging or middle opportunities. Especially if your futures are on the heavy favorites.

For example, I have Illinois and UNC to win it all for big $$$. Pinnacle is offering prop bet saying yes or no UNC or Illinois wins it all? NO is getting +220 and I could easily hedge my bet if I want too.

Then lets not forget the great entertainment of rooting for your team to come through!

My worst future beat was 2 years ago. I decided to put $100 on USC at 15-1 to win it all in college football. My bet ticket said winner of the BCS Sugar Bowl. Well USC ended up being AP NC's and won their bowl game in Rose Bowl but my ticket was a loser.
