Mount Hood Golf Course in Melrose MA. My best score ever was 72 on a par 69 course. This was in the mid 1980's before my neck problems.

Not the worlds best course but back in the 1960's when I was a kid they had a program where for a dollar you could play all day. Once or twice a week we would ride our bikes up there, clubs on our backs, and play 27 holes. I was about 10 when we started that.

Asked him why he didn't go pro. he told me the dif bet the top pro golfers was about .9 strokes he was just below that.. Man's gotta know his limitations....

My best round was 76 in a tournament at Northstar Golf Club in Sunbury OH last summer. I put back to back 9's together for a combined 73, but that's just not the same as putting together 18 straight holes. Shot a 75 at a shit hole here in the Columbus area, but I think the 76 at Northstar is more impressive since it is a much tougher track.

Northstar looks like a nice place, and reasonably priced

shot 99 at Lake Wright here at the beach..

lotta woods lotta water..

that was after a year of playing every two weeks and maybe a visit once a week to the driving range..

been great not good at every sport I ever tried to play..

but figured out I would never be able to afford to get good at the game of golf..

ya gotta play at least once a week and at least that much in practice if not more..

combine that with good or better equipment in outlay of cash and I was never going to be good ..

great game...but cost WAY TO MUCH to become good at it..

My best round is on the course I grew up on. I smoked more joints and made out more on that course than anything else, so not surprising my low score was 99.

Didn't realize you were in Ohio too. From the Blue tees, that course seems to match up kind of closely to the Green tees at Northstar, which is what I typically play. Since you are within a couple hours, we should get together and play some time. I run the pot game every Saturday and Sunday morning here.

If you have an iPhone (Android version is in the works), check out the website and app for GolfGameBook. It's free and you can use it as an online scorecard for multiple groups. We have been using it for the pot game and it makes things way more interesting since you can see where everyone is at in real time. We typically do a 2 man better ball and a skins game....it keeps track of everything for you so you don't need to fuss with a bunch of scorecards at the end of the round.

Email me if you want more info.

Shot a 74 on bull creek in Columbus Georgia back in 1990 . Bull creek was one of the top 25 public courses back then. Those were the days.... In reality I played the best golf of my life in the member / guest tournament in June of 2013 on whynlakes CC and finished in 2nd place against 96 other two man teams:0074

That GolfGameBook app looks pretty cool! Unfortunately I have an android phone. Their GPS looks pretty good from what i saw in their video.
We should try to figure out a course halfway between Cleve and Columbus, maybe in the Akron /Canton area, or Medina / Mansfield area.

Pretty sure I told this story here many years ago...
Circleville Open,Pine Bush NY..

10th hole...I use a 5 iron and run up a 75-100 yds shot...big bounce before the green...ball hits the green and goes directly in...wasn't sure if it stayed until I saw the reaction of the guys teeing off at the 11th....an eagle for me....3 holes later ....I run up another shot with my 5 iron.... no sand traps in front....same thing....maybe about 60-80 yds away....another eagle... that is 2 eagles in between 3 holes....my partners are going crazy....the guys in front of us want to know was it the same guy from a few holes back...that hit the eagles.....
Big barbecue after....getting congratulated and pats on the back....by many fellow teachers,coaches,administrators... my head is pretty swelled....many are saying " we didn't know coach was a big golfer..... I was the talk of the Open....until....I was getting seconds on the corn on the cob line...and heard two guys ahead of me say " hey,who is the asshole that got 2 eagles and shot a 101..."...then it hit me...I was the joke of the barbecue....everyone was making fun of me behind my back....and when the awards were given out later the MC who is a rival coach just killed me up there on the mic....they made a special award for me...

Play golf a little...best score 95 or 96...

Just never really a matched set of clubs bought one here one there the 3 woods i bought at once 1 3 and 5
