it's one of the few ways that you can bet more than you have in your account....... say you aren't gonna have puter access for a while, and you want to start out with an afternoon start time.....IF it wins (or pushes) you can also put action on another game..... that's not the only way it works (cuz you can bet IF's on something you are sure on, and only have bets on others IF that hits.) UGH.....take away my cocktails before i try and explain this S*** please :)

On the course!
".....................God.........If you let me just win this one bet, I will never wager again!"

That's the only "if" bet I ever had!

if your a parlay bettor

if your a parlay bettor

i like craib for one reason. that is i like to play parlays
i take some shot at big parlay alot. " this is for me only."

i play my best bet example

lakers-3 best $550 to win $500

then i play a if bet if lakers win.

8 teamer $100 to win $15000.00

if my parlay lose i still make money as long if the lakers win.
that $450 profit

if the lakers lose the parlay does not count.
there alot of ways i made it work for me.
why throw alot of money around if you don't have too.
i like to keep my risk down % wise.;)

example last baseball season

i did a three team parlay
$1000 to win $5800

then i did a if parlay

three teamer
$1000 to win $4800

and hit both of them
bottom line i lay $1000 dollars and profit $10,600

not a bad investment ,would you say , for one day of work.
bottom line what ever work for you. its not easy being me.
i like to go for the big hits . and its my reward when i hit.

one thing in life ,no one is going to gave you anything for free.
you have to earn it. i been betting for along time. and i have my up and down like anyone else. but the reward have been great to me and my family. if you can not stand to lose sometimes you need to find a other way. but work alway come first for me. one reason i need the balance in my life. and always my family walfare comes first. gambling is a bonus if you want it to be.

i hope i made some sense good luck and GOD BLESS

So that's how and "If" works and how Raymond can make big parlays with little risk

So that's how and "If" works and how Raymond can make big parlays with little risk

Well, I'll be dammmmmmmed

I've been following your plays for over a year now Ray.. maybe closer to two.

This is the first time I've seen it explained how you can make wild-ass high risk parlays and not really risk much. I never knew this!

I find what you just said to be astounding. I just thought that you liked to take huge risks with the chance of winning a few once in awhile. And I knew you did. But I had no idea that you could structure parlays around an IF bet so that if the "big" play of the day lost and it was part of the parlay that the parlay wouldn't count.

Thanks for explaining this.

marmalade,

you are correct, an IF wager can't have in it the same wager that caused it's action.

It can, of course, include any of your other plays for the day.

So if you like 6 games today

Bet you favorite game, and if it wins you can parlay the other 5 games.

Once the money is in your pocket-- It's yours--simple

This crap about you playing on their money is absurd

If you like something, play it

Wouldn't you be better off to just split your bet if you have two different plays?
What if your 1st play doesn't hit, but your 2nd does?

Keep it simple and you have a better chance of winning

Your right Dr Raider, playing with "won" money is still playing with your money. But using ifs does allow you to only try for a "long shot" parlay, if you've won for the day.

An If also allows you to make more bets than you have money. For example, I love 2 game and want to maximize my bet, but I only have $100. Soo I play one for $100, and the 2nd as an IF for $100 (or even up to $190). If both win, I'm up $200.

Yes, there are can be draw backs, but it can be used in some ways that are helpful.

to each their own...............

:)

I hate to see other people lose

I go to Gulfstream Park, Hollywood Greyhound Track and Pompano Park a couple times a week

I see lots of people that have good picks, but are like loose cannons with their $$$ management

I have a big problem with self control and $$$ management

Most other people have the same problem multiplied by 100 times

Keep your cool, keep it simple, stick to some type of $$$ management system or thing game will get the best of you

Thanks Dr Raider. I really do appreciate your input. Your right, If I start to get it too complicated I've gone to far, and it does me no harm to be reminded of that from time to time!

The only way I use "ifs" is for those "sucker" impossibly long shot Parlays. The chance of winning 80-1 is thrilling. BUT it must be in its proper place. So I use an IF to make a 1/4 unit play on a parlay. Half the time I lose the main bet, therefore saving me from losing half of the parlays. The other half of the time, my urge for the long shot is satisfied, using money from an "UP" day.

Your caution is WELL advised. Money management and sound, simple betting stategies are essential for long term winning, and I would not want some to read this thread and go crazy with these types of bets.
