Kansas City area for who knows how long....
"Strive to be the man you want your daughter to marry"?

how about "Try not to take anything personally. No one thinks about you as much as you do."

or,

"Don't argue with drunks or idiots" -They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

"you don't get if you don't ask"

Learned it in sales "you won't get the sale NOW if you don't ask for it NOW"

It's true with everything though, 'you don't get if you don't ask'.

So ask for the discount, ask for the upgrades, ask for the BJ, etc. :toast:

On the course!
My dad always gave me the best advice. Like most knuckleheads........It took several years before it sank in.

Getting a government job was the best advice I took from him.

Daddy

always said, "you can't bluff someone who doesn't know how to play"

In sales, always start at the top because you can always come down. You will be surprised on how many times you don't have to come down.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Early in my retail business career, I had a "Dutch Uncle" born in the early thirties Chicago.
He always had good stories of his past.
His favorites, the front lines in the Korean war..especially the time he "stitched" up a chi-com close and personal with an automatic weapon...

He had several businesses over the years....

He tutored me on 2 valid points regarding retail business..

"Never underestimate the stupidity of the public"

and on negotiating prices, "You can always go down on your price, its tuff going up."

Died 1994...RIP Bart....you were TRULY one of a kind....:toast:
