Tonights monday night tilt features a talented but inconsistent Green Bay team travel to Jacksonsville for the first time since 1995. Green Bay has a potential EXPLOSIVE offense with NFC rush leader Green, Schroeder who leads NFC per catch. Green accounts for 38% of GB's offense. When Green runs well FAVRE plays well and they win. Green bay has accumualted 36 sacks which leads the league, however they seem to rack up sacks against immobile QB's like Ty Detmer. In fact they haven't been able to really pressure opposing QB's, as was seen in the Thanksgiving win. Jacksonville on the other hand is 1-7 since the loss of Fred taylor, a potential 2000 yard rusher. They have been decimated by injuries in the offensive line, which has resulted in 5 straight games in which they failed to reach the 100 yard mark. This has translated into losing close games, and overusing Brunell. However this Jags team has refused to quit in any game, they deserve a A for effort. In this game the Jags will not run the ball effectively, so it will rest on Brunell's shoulers. He relies on timing and accuracy, and if the Pack can pressure and hit him and be in the backfield Brunell, who has been slowed by injuries will have a long day. jacksonsville will rely on the pass in this game to win. Jags will have to block sack specialist Kabeer Jamilla. If they give Brunell time he will have success throwing the ball against the GB secondary. This line at GB-3 is very simple, if Gb can get any sustained pressure on Brunell, Gb will win, because the Jags are going to run the ball effectively tonight. If the Jags are to win they will have to harrass, hit, bump, push, bite, or do anything to rattle Favre, this is the key to rattle Favre. The line is GB-3 because they are a better football club, but which GB team will show up? I believe this to be a statement game for Gb after the poor defensive performance on Thanksgiving. Green Bay is a 2 dimensional team, and I believe that will be enough to beat a 1 dimensional Jags team.
