When using an ATM and you withdrawal money, do you just put in your pocket/wallet/whatever right away or do you count it first?

I always count it, why? Because way back in late 80's I once got shorted 20 dollars, ever since then I always make sure to count the money an ATM gives me.

Oh and how did I remember getting shorted back in the late 80's? Easy answer, back then I always used the "Johnny Cash Bank Machines". Yep, no joke there were "Johnny Cash" ATM's back then........don't believe me check out the video below.....

By the way I am always amazed how many people never count their money after using an ATM. So many people just take the money and run, they'd never know if 20 bucks was missing.

I thought it was common prudence to count it on site, but then I always wondered what your options were at an atm if it shorted u. How do u prove it?

I always try to use an ATM at my bank. I count the money and make sure that is all facing the same way. If I was shorted, or got too much I would just go into my bank.

I count it right away because by the end of the day I might not remember how much I started with, or spent....

I will REALLY freak you out...this is the first year in my 66 that I used a credit card to gas up with.....ALWAYS paid cash.
Call me old school....cash in, cash out.....amazes me when people pay for a soda pop and bag of chips with a credit card at the grocery store...they apparently do not have 2 nickels to rub together.
If its under $50-$60 I pay cash, anywhere...

I look forward to the day when all the electronic payment devices suddenly cease operating.....gonna be a lot of hungry people....:popcorn2

Gubberment wants cashless society for a very good reason....

That fact does not freak me out, I pay cash (or debit card which is same as cash) for everything.

Debit card is not green folding money with dead presidential portraits,....it is a plastic representation of digital entrees.

No worries...I am like 97 percent cash....3 percent debit card.
