Haven't bought one in at least 7 years unless at the airport for the plane ride. I don't know how they stay in business with the internet.

Newspapers started declining around 2006. In 2014 TV affiliates (your local news) started taking a dive as well.

By 2020, TV affiliates will be exactly where newspapers were in 2006, but newspapers have the chance to be the king of local news, crushing TV stations and it will happen, but not in every market.

It's interesting how the world has changed in the last 20 years.

One of my favorite parts of the day, reading my Green Bay press gazette, delivered to my door daily. Usually accompanies me on one of my other daily rituals, won't bore you with those details :tm::tmi::flush::em38:

We do not watch the local news, it is terrible! We do watch national news on TV about once a week? 60 minutes is a favorite of ours......getting old xstop

TV stations have too many expenses. Newspaper has less.

When the network drops the affiliate (no more ABC programming, NBC etc....) all the station will have is shitty rerun programming and local news which is not enough to sustain an entire station. They will fold.

Newspapers on the other hand are evolving into media sites with local journalisim. The eyeballs are already moving/shifting away from TV to online. This is the beginning of the transition.

Content is king. Newspapers will win in the end. (Although they won't be a traditional newspaper - they will be full video and article content - media company.)

Keep in mind I am only speaking at the local level accross the nation.
