*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** Tim Couch (FA) worked out for Chicago Friday but no
immediate decision was made. The Bears were going to evaluate Couch's
performance and decide if they want to sign him, team spokesman Scott
Hagel said.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Byron Leftwich (Jac) practiced on Friday. He has
been upgraded to probable and will start this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Jay Fiedler (Mia) practiced on Friday and will
start this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Chris Simms (TB) did not practice on Friday and
will not be available to play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Steve McNair (Ten) practiced on Friday and will

Running Backs
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Warrick Dunn (Atl) hasn't been limited by his
hamstring according to coach Jim Mora. Asked to address reports that
Warrick Dunn's hamstring is an ongoing problem, Mora said: "I haven't
noticed his hamstring has hurt him. He's never said anything to me. I
think that's probably just typical wear and tear. He's not on our injury
report and he hasn't missed any practice or any games. I think he's okay.
"I ask him every day, 'How are you doing?' He says, 'I'm doing great.'
That's all I can go on."
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** FB Ovie Mughelli (Bal) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Travis Henry (Buf) practiced on Friday and should
start this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Stephen Davis (Car) did not practice on Friday
and has been downgraded to doubtful on the injury report. HC John Fox
says he isn't ready to rule Davis out, but it's always a bad sign to see a
guy downgraded this late in the week. Brad Hoover, Joey Harris, and Nick
Goings would split the rushing load if Davis can't go.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** FB Bryan Johnson (Chi) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Ahman Green (GB) practiced on Friday and will
start this weekend. However, he is still battling his injured Achilles so
Najeh Davenport should see carries.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** FB William Henderson (GB) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Dominic Rhodes (Ind) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala (Jac) practiced on Friday
and should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB LaBrandon Toefield (Jac) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Priest Holmes (KC) practiced all week and will
start this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Travis Minor (Mia) practiced all week and should
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Sammy Morris (Mia) practiced on Friday and will
start this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Michael Bennett (Min) practiced all week and
should be available to play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Mewelde Moore (Min) may continue as the team's
starting RB even when Michael Bennett is completely healthy. "Production
is production," OC Scott Linehan said. "You get an opportunity, you go
produce. You've earned yourself more and more opportunities. That's
life." Of course that sounds like Linehan is saying that Moore will play
as long as he is being productive. With no production, will the
opportunity evaporate as well? Clearly, Bennett has a different view on
the situation: "Things happen, and that's Onterrio and Mewelde's job to
come in and do something when the starter is out," Bennett said. "They're
doing a great job. I'm happy with the way they are developing. It makes
our team that much better. But I want to come back."
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Moe Williams (Min) practiced on Friday and will
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** FB B.J. Askew (NYJ) practiced on Friday and should
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Justin Fargas (Oak) partially participated in
Friday's practice and looks like a game-time decision for this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** Tyrone Wheatley (Oak) did a little bit in Friday's
practice but is not ready to return to the field.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** FB Josh Parry (Phi) practiced on Friday and should
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Jesse Chatman (SD) practiced on Friday and should
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB LaDainian Tomlinson (SD) practiced on Friday and
will start this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** FB Greg Comella (TB) will not play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Chris Brown (Ten) practiced on Friday and will
start this weekend.

Wide Receivers
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Nate Poole (Ari) practiced on Friday and should
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Brian Finneran (Atl) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Peerless Price (Atl) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Travis Taylor (Bal) practiced on Friday and will
start this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Peter Warrick (Cin) will not play this weekend.
It is believed that Warrick's "shin injury" could in fact be a fractured
fibula.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Andre' Davis (Cle) was in tennis shoes Friday
still nursing his sprained big toe. Coach Butch Davis will only say that
he's a game time decision but he's looking like a very risky play at this
point. Andre King would likely move into the starting lineup opposite
Dennis Northcutt. Newly acquired Antonio Bryant is trying to absorb the
offense as quickly as possible.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Triandos Luke (Den) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Darius Watts (Den) practiced on Friday and will
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Roy Williams (Det) is still a game-time decision,
but it looks like he should be able to play this weekend. Although he was
held out of full-team drills for a third day in a row Friday, ESPN.com
insider John Clayton just advised ESPNews viewers that Roy Williams did
more Friday than he did Thursday and it's looking like the rookie receiver
is a step closer to returning to action this Sunday. Just remember, with
Detroit's roster, the fact that Williams is active for the game doesn't
mean he'll contribute. Coach Mariucci activated him last week but he did
nothing in the game.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Robert Ferguson (GB) practiced on Friday and has
been upgraded to probable on the injury report. He'll probably have a
slightly reduced from normal but he says he feels great and much better
than a week ago: "It's totally different," said Ferguson. "Last Friday I
felt like was about 20-30 percent. This Friday I feel like I'm 100
percent."
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Javon Walker (GB) practiced on Friday and should
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Brandon Stokley (Ind) practiced on Friday and
should play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Randy Moss (Min) ran on the treadmill on Friday
and remains a game-time decision. "He looked pretty good [Friday]," head
coach Mike Tice said. "We'll see how he wakes up tomorrow." If he feels
good Saturday morning, Moss is expected to run some pass routes to test
the leg. Whatever the case, it's looking increasingly like Moss' ultimate
status will be determined by a Dreaded Game-Time Decision. Obviously, he's
a very risky play. 50% of Randy Moss is still better than lots of starting
WRs in the league but understand the gamble you're taking if you go with
Moss this week.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Santana Moss (NYJ) practiced on Friday and will
play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Ronald Curry (Oak) partially participated in
Friday's practice and looks like a game-time decision for this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Doug Gabriel (Oak) partially participated in
Friday's practice and looks like a game-time decision for this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Tim Dwight (SD) did not practice again on Friday,
but could still play this weekend. He will be a game-time decision.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Keenan McCardell (SD) will play this weekend, and
HC Marty Schottenheimer even says "it's not out of the realm of
possibility that Keenan starts."
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Bobby Engram (Sea) did not practice on Friday and
will be a game-time decision for this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Joe Jurevicius (TB) will return to the starting
line up since Charles Lee can't go. "(Jurevicius) has been cleared to play
and he's practiced well," said Gruden. "We've had great conversations.
We'll use Bill Schroeder in a capacity to help him out if he needs help. I
think we're all ready to see Jurevicius play. This is his time, and he's
the starter."
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Charles Lee (TB) will not play this weekend.
*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** WR Drew Bennett (Ten) missed portions of the full
team practice Friday but it still looks like he could play.
