Last week me and my lovely wife spent our 35th anniversary at Foxwoods. With the casino being kind of slow mid-week it was great. Low table mins and no lines for restaurants.
Late night I was playing craps and a white guy on the on the other side of the table to my left had thousands of dollars of green and black chips in front of him. Other than to notice him betting heavy I didn?t pay him much attention.
For the first 45 I was there the table was choppy at best. Suddenly my eye is distracted by a wad of hundreds thrown on the table. The boxman counted out 10 rows of 5 hundred each. $5,000. I watched as the chips made there way to the white guy.
I didn?t think much more about him until the boxman called over one of the pit bosses. He had laid out this guys buy in and rebuys. He added it up to $30,000. He said he didn?t have $3,000 when he left and lasted less than an hour.
Early the next morning I was playing on a crowded table before breakfast.. A black kid pushes his way in crowding me. He throws four hundred dollar bills on the table and hops the 9 and 10. He lost. Not concerned in the least he throws another $500 at the dealers and wants to buy in.
He puts $90 on both the 6 and 8. When he hits they both go up $30. He puts money on the 5 and 9 and he hops more numbers for $25 bucks a throw,
His girlfriend comes over and she says that she wants in. He announces that he is actually hoping he loses because he is just waiting to get the dice.
He almost got his wish. The table was cold but he left before it was his turn to shoot.
I have played enough craps to know that the story is not very surprising to guys who play craps. But my question is where do these people get the money? I am thinking it?s drug money. They never seem concerned about losing. And I see this type of thing almost every time I play.
