Where's Kent State.....?

Saw this line at -5 this afternoon on Yahoo.com Sports odds. My jaw dropped when I saw this. Hawaii has 1 win on the raod ALL YEAR and it came vs HORRIBLE UTEP. I know Kent has been kinda streaky lately but i figured w/ Hawaii so bad on the road travelling like 8 hours to Kent St would really hurt them. I figuered this line would be in the 8-12 point range.

How come I found it on Yhaoo but its no where to be found in the online books? Anyone have any info:shrug:

i believe/am assuming books are waiting for the confirmed status of antonio gates. he only played like 10 minutes vs buffalo because of a thigh bruise, but im almost positive it was just precautionary on coach christians part. kent state blew buffalo out in the first 15:00 of the game, so they didnt even need gates to go back in. i believe he will be 100% tomorrow, unless theres something im not aware of. but i believe is his status is whats keeping the line off the board till tomorrow

Very good point gman. How do you think his status will affect this line? Considering he will likely play, do you think the -5 sounds about right?

also, like you said- i expect(ed) the line to be around 8-9 points, so id be surprised if its anywhere NEAR 5 when it actually comes out

i dont know if there was a bettable-5 out there even temporarily, or where yahoo gets their lines from. no clue. but im expecting gates to play, and if the line is less than 8.5, id be shocked. hawaiis been getting 4/5/6 points on the road consistently in conference. gotta believe its gonna be close to DD in a game involving extremely long travel vs a premier mid major

Yeah I had never even heard of Yahoo's lines but my buddy phoned me and we were stunned to see Kent -5. Kent is clicking again right now and Hawaii has hit a serious wall, Kent DD still may be a good play.

yes that is a long trip.......although I do remember once in NCAA hockey Alaska Fairbanks travelling to Boston University
