Public will hammer the totals over after last week and I can almost guarantee one of these games will go under.

Vegas won't be 50 points off again.

and vegas wasnt off by 50 points......they were off by 59.

for shits and giggles i think they should set the toledo total at 100 next week and limit the action at $100 just to see how many over bets they'll still get.

That would be hysterical. And you know there would be about 20% on the over. :142smilie

Vegas and the books go 2-2 and still make a killing, you do realize that right?

All I said was there was no way both huge public numbers would cover tonight and they did not. Vegas still won.

The public does not win in the long run, that is why Vegas is in business.

No sane person could argue otherwise.

Its not about "against the Public" per se, but finding value and betting it, u'll lose some and win some, even have some very bad/good streaks, I believe that as long as u bet value u'll win in the long run..

It happens in Sports Betting, Stocks Investing, Poker and Life ;)

Legit question, how long have you been gambling?

If it's been a long time, do you not agree with Airportis's claim?? In the long run, the big public plays WILL lose at a bigger clip than not. Period. I am not talking about these 2 crapfests last night, just in general. I don't think any intelligent capper on here would make a claim that all you have to do is "fade the public plays" and win. They simply realize that these big ones are usually losers and it is their job to go and find the ones that are.

Just like Joe Public, and presumably you, look for the "locks." OMG, I can't believe that Pittsburgh is only favored by 3, I am going to bet my house on them. THAT mentality is such a loser in the long run, I can't even tell you. I will now put the laughing icons like you did :mj07: :mj07: .

It's funny how all you Joe Public types are coming out of the woodworks this year and making shit of all the reverse line move, public play stuff. Where have you been in years past? Probably no where; because people who take this stuff into account AND look at the big picture as well and other factors are part of the few long term winners.

Yes, there has been a HUGE run of "Square" play winners this year and I honestly commend those who have been riding it out and winning. I would just warn you to be careful in getting too caught up in it because I have seen this bite sooo many people over the years.

Good Luck in whatever you do.

I take into account what I feel is the popular side when picking football games. Typically, i try to avoid popular plays. Since I started posting my plays here in 2004, I have won a reasonable 54% of posted ncaaf games and think ive had only one losing campaign.....last year:facepalm: I'm going to stick to avoiding popular sides (especially popular dogs) going forward.

Good luck to all regardless of the capping methods that you employ.

Not once did anyone claim to be a sharp in this thread.

I simply said that there was no way both those huge public overs would hit last night, and they did not. I won the 2 wagers I played last night.

I don't know why you are so offended by all of this. Of course we are the public. Everyone here is the public.

When I am making plays I do take into consideration where the majority of people are siding on the game because Vegas is not in the business to hand out money and give people easy winners.

Am I saying the large public plays never win? Of course not, they do win, but I am sure the sides with 80% on them lose more often than win. Otherwise Vegas and Sportsbooks wouldn't be a billion dollar industry.

It does not win as often as u think to be brought up on daily basis and vegas makes money on parlays, teasers and juice FYI :0008

I'm pretty sure Vegas makes way more money on single wagers when someone says "OMG Dallas is only a 1 point favorite, im betting my house on that because they'll win for sure, Vegas is so dumb!" than they make on parlays and teasers.
