I was advised to take the Bengals +6.5 -110, but betus.com had them +6 -110. To buy the half point took it to -120.

I took the bet at +6 -110, and obviously my bet was a push. Which kind of sucks. :p

I have two questions.

1. Did another book have them at +6.5?

2. Is it better strategy to consistently buy the hook for less return or to stick with the line and take the push?

Thanks iin Advance for the feedback! :00014

On the course!
buy the points you feel you need..you only pay the extra vig IF you lose!!:toast:

That is as false as it gets. You pay the vig when you place the bet.

If you risk $100 at -120 and win, you get back $183.33

If you stay at -110, you get back $190.91

Now, some will argue that a winning bet gets paid while the push just gets the money back, but that's another argument.

Looking at the plays ScottAtlanta makes will show you how expensive buying points can be. A lot of his bets win, but they are costing him a good chunk of money when you see how few times the points actually help him.

To each his own, but IMO.......if you are worried about a point or two, you should not be making a bet on that game.
