I think Nebraska with Sam Keller and some big time Juco/Frosh recruits - that 25-1 looks like some value.

Thoughts?

I think that SC is going to hammer them early in the season. I see value in LSU next year. SC at +300 is no value

I see value in LSU next year

LSU has a nice schedule next season including several big SEC games at home, and the OOC schedule includes Va Tech.

There is a ton of talent at WR, QB and TE, but little experience. Tons of talent and solid experience at RB. OL is a bit of a concern because Saban did a poor job recruiting the OL in his final 3 seasons. Still, this OL will be better than last year.

Defensively, the DL is top notch, thanks to return of Glen Dorsey and strong recruiting the past 2 seasons. LB corps is the best ever at LSU. CBs are above average at best talent-wise, but have plenty of experience. Safety concerns me because LSU staff is sold on Craig Steltz, who is too slow to play DB in the SEC from what I have seen. ND exploited Steltz in the 1H of the Sugar Bowl, while Daniels was serving a 1 half suspension. I am definitely hoping for the 2 stud safety recruits to see the field this year. Due to the strong front 7, I think that the inexperience at safety can be masked.

Due to the schedule, it would be silly to rule out LSU as a contender for the BCS title next season, but I wouldn't back LSU to win it all b/c of overall offensive inexperience and OL concerns.

At 75-1 Clemson looks like a very solid value. They will be good next year. They had one of the top 1-2 backfield combos in spiller and davis, both returning to my knowledge(please correct if wrong).

Here is a c/p from yahoo recuiting on the prospects coming in this year at other positions in offense.

Headliner: Rivals100 cornerback Marcus Gilchrist has adequate size and the instincts to be a shut-down corner for the Tigers. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder could make an impact as early as next season, at the very least on special teams.

Sleeper: Andre Branch has the stature and speed to be a linebacker or end for Clemson. The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder was one of the better players on a very talented Varina squad.

Overview: Tommy Bowden did very well on the defensive side in this year's recruiting class, starting with Gilchrist. Alongside him is top prep safety DeAndre McDaniel. The defense saw further improvement with the acquisition of linebackers Brandon Maye, Chad Diehl and Scotty Cooper. The offense got some help, too; starting at quarterback with Rivals100 star Willy Korn. The Clemson offense won't be as run happy in the near future with the pickup of a handful of talented receivers including Xavier Dye, Brandon Clear and tight end Brian Linthicum.

So that looks very promising as well.

Also their schedule looks to be very winnable

Here is a link to a scout.com article on their schedule. They have 4 10win schools playing at clemson next year. So they will have the schedule to keep moving up the polls and I think they will have one of the most surprising offenses in the country next year.
http://clemson.scout.com/2/612619.html

I think they will compete with vt for acc champ.

And at 75-1 I am sure they are not that far off from going all the way if they get the right breaks.

Vols could be worth a shot, although I haven't looked at their schedule. The top 2 teams in the SEC, Fla and LSU, will both be breaking in new starting QBs.

Clemson seriously might have had one of the worst QB's I saw last year - Will Proctor. BAD.

A lot of players would be an improvement over that guy...I made some big cash betting against him (including Maryland plus 17 against them late in the year - What a retarded line that was).

So if Korn could be something - You are right, Clemson could be a good value.

I know you warned me about proctor last year marra, and I have to agree with you, he was one of the worst qbs in the ncaa last year. And despite him clemson was still pretty good with their oline and backfield, except they didnt bother to defend and once the
dcs saw them play enough games they just stuffed the box and forced them to throw.

FSU at 30-1 looks like value. Jimbo Fisher will work wonders with that offensive talent if they can develop a receiver opposite Carr.

Nebraska doesn't have Sam Keller back, he was a one and done guy last season. Nebraska has no shot in 2008, they will be better, but not that good, yet.

The Big 12 as a conference will be tougher next year. Mizzou, Kansas and OU started maybe 12 seniors between them, barring a mass exodus to the pros, each of those teams will be very good next year. Texas getting Auburns DC Muschamp is big for the Horns.

Georgia at 40-1 would definitely be worth a look.

Georgia was 40/1 for 2007. They wont be 40/1 for 2008. Those odds were for 2007
