LOS ANGELES (AP) -- UCLA fired defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Larry Kerr after the Bruins finished the season with the second-worst run defense in the country.
Kerr had worked three seasons under head coach Karl Dorrell.
The Bruins struggled defensively throughout last season, even while ranked in the top 10. They won their first eight games, then gave up 52 points in a loss at Arizona and 66 points in losing to crosstown rival Southern California.
UCLA (10-2) finished the season with a 50-38 victory over Northwestern in the Sun Bowl. The Bruins allowed 233 yards rushing per game.
Kerr previously spent 10 seasons as defensive coordinator at Colorado State.
