The Cavaliers announced yesterday that their fallen comrade, Sasha Pavlovic, will miss the next two to three weeks with a sprained left ankle.

Don't be surprised if LeBron James, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Ben Wallace all sit out tonight's home game at 7 against Detroit.

''If we can get these guys some rest, especially LeBron, we will,'' coach Brown said. ''He hasn't practiced in two or three weeks. It will be good to get him off his feet, along with (Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Ben Wallace).

With nothing at stake for Washington or Orlando, veteran guard Antonio Daniels believes the Wizards should have only one goal in tonight's regular season finale: Get out of the game healthy.

The Wizards (43-38) are locked into the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and know they will open a best-of-seven series in Cleveland on Saturday or Sunday.

Gilbert Arenas sat out Monday's win over Indiana to rest his surgically repaired left knee while Caron Butler missed his second straight game because he was still bothered by a right knee bruise suffered when he banged knees with Detroit's Rodney Stuckey on Friday night.

Also banged up is shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson, who suffered a bruised tailbone during Friday's loss at Detroit after taking a hard foul from Pistons forward Jason Maxiell.

Following Monday's win, Jordan indicated that he would like to see Arenas and Butler play "some" tonight if they are healthy and also said that his plan is to give his top eight or nine players limited minutes before turning the game over to rookies Nick Young, Dominic McGuire and Oleksiy Pecherov and third-year forward-center Andray Blatche.

The Hawks finally unleashed their bench Tuesday night, using mostly reserves to finish their 121-105 loss to Orlando.

It was the regular season home finale for the Hawks, 37-44, who won't play at Philips Arena again until Games 3 and 4 of their first round playoff series against Boston. The playoff schedule will be announced later today.

The Hawks finish the regular season tonight in Miami against the league's worst team. It's a game Woodson said his team has to have.

"I still want to win," he said. "You don't want to go into the playoff losing."
