Cards as DOGS?? When was the last time you saw that...? I can see FLA winning this game tonight for some reason, but of course not enough to wager my money on it. The Cards only got 2 hits last night in 10 innings...when was the last time we saw that?? Now that I'm writing this I might actually reconsider and take FLA for a little....any opinions? Suppan ERA L/3 is HUGE and the game before last he walked 10 in one game....

I agree with you RS. This game will be televised nationally on ESPN. Public money will be on the Cardinals for sure. If St. Louis is due for a loss, it will happen tonight. Having said that, I will not be putting any money on this game. I can't bet against the Cardinals right now!

I totally hear ya, but I think I'm going to have to play a little on the Marlins....like you said if they are going to lose it will be tonight...I see many factors in favor of the Marlins..., but then again the Cards could show up big time....

Actually, for what it's worth, the Cardinals opened at -110. I'm now showing even odds.

hard to think of the cards as ever being a trap. they have the best overall record in baseball, and the best road record. their road record is considerably better than the marlins' home record. they hit righties on the road better than the marlin's do at home and score 1.3 rpg more than the marlins vs righties. they have a better bullpen, better bench, and play better defense. sure, suppan's era is over 5 his last three, and over 5 career vs the marlins, but his road era this year is 3.14, and his era in night games is 3.74. while pavano is working on a nice year, in ten career innings vs the cards, he has a 7.20 era, with a 1.90 whip and .364 ba.

cards may lose this game, but this is the type of bet i'm willing to make.

Beckett dominated the St Lou lineup last night. Pavano is obviously not that type of blow you away pitcher. Although the world will probably be on St Lou tonight, it is the only side I would take in this one;)
