The Cow Pies went 6-1 last week and the upgrade in booze has been delightful. I shoulda been 7-0, but the damn Pirates couldn't holda 21-point lead with four minutes to go against the Colts. Sheesh! Anyway, my YTDs are now:

Power Pies: 7-6-1

I'd much rather have the G-men coming offa loss than the Pats offa win. I realize that NY has struggled with pass defense, but New England's OL is too beat up to contend with Michael Strahan. Oh yeah! As long as I'm talkin' about New York, allow me to say three more words, ok? GO RED SOX! GIANTS +2?

My way of handicapping a teams strengths and weaknesses came up with remarkably similar results on these two. So that gave me an automatic lean toward my natural instinct. It's the points, Sherlock! I was quickly drawn to the points! Unfortunately, both TB and Gruden are unbelievable after a loss. Check it out. The Bucs are 22-4 ATS offa loss and not favored by more than five. And Gruden is 28-11 offa SU or ATS loss. Yuz gotta admit, them are some sobering figures, ain't they? PASS

The Cow Pow figs put this spread right on the number, but I am ready to back the silver and black. I mean, losing to the Bears will quickly bring the severity of your team's problems into sharp focus. In the long-run, losing to Chicago might be the best thing that coulda happened to 'em. RAIDERS +3

While at first blush it may seem as though Kansas City's secondary has had some strong games, the truth of the matter is that mosta the credit for these performances should be aimed up front at Vonnie Holliday and friends. Meanwhile, perhaps the strongest parta Packer play this season has been the killer job done by the offensive line. Say cheese! PACKERS -1? Power Pie

The Tits are just 5-18 against the spread when laying 5 or more as the host. They are 0-9 in that sitch when the opponent is at better than .333. And they are 0-6 if after a straight up loss. Plus, teams that average less than 3.5 yards per rush are 14-36-1 when laying more than 7 at home (after game 3). You tell me what the right side is. TEXANS +9?

Fortunately for the Jagoffs, one of their strengths this year has been run defense. I mean any time you can make Jay Fiedler tryta beat you with his arm, you gotta shot. The Fish DBs have given up some yardage this year, but their ability to disguise looks could prove troublesome to rookie QB Byron Leftwich. So yes, I am concerned. Just not enough. JAGUARS +3

Are the Pokes for real? This game oughtta tell us a lot. The Birds desperately need Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor, because the Dallas trio of pass-catchers appears to be as dangerous as any. I dunno what's up. I mean, I can point at the 'Boys, but I just can't pull the trigger. PASS
